"If you want a drink or food in a nice North Yorkshire country pub, this isnt the place to stop. The bar and lounge is a mass of TV screens blasting out sport football in this case that nobody is watching, over the top of which is piped music of pretty old chart hits the PRS will charge you more for the newer stuff . Outside is an area of yet more TV screens more football! and a beer garden ex car park that had piped music at a volume way too loud. This isnt what people want and the lack of customers on a lovely afternoon pretty much confirmed that. Maybe the owner is a football/sport fan who thinks we all are we arent! Try the Lime Tree 3 miles up the road to see how a country pub should look."

The beer was good but I resent being charged £33 for two pints and two burgers served with Mcdonalds chips, sorry fries. Good quality but not£33 good. Will not be back

The Bay Inn was our local pub when we stayed in Yorkshire. We went twice and good food, lots of choice, excellent curry options and service was good as well. Highly recommended. View menu

Had lunch here with our 1-year-old daughter and dog. The curries are delicious and my wife really enjoyed her lasagna. Very family and pet friendly pub. Music was a bit loud when we got there but staff were very happy to turn it down for us. Highly recommended

What a great place. I work all ove the UK and my company books my hotels for me but wow . What a little gem this place is. Very friendly, very clean and comfy. It's a shame I'm only here for 1 night. I haven't had the chance to sample the food but I'm sure it's amazing. Can't recommend this place enough.

I stayed at this restaurant for one night. The room was clean and comfortable. I had the Cheeseburger for dinner, which was fresh, juicy, and delicious. The atmosphere was great and they had sports channels playing, which was fantastic. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding and served hot, just as it should be. Sheila and John were both very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this restaurant. View menu

One would expect that affluent villages like Green Hammerton and Whixley would have at least decent pubs, but unfortunately, they do not. Who would want to dine or have a drink in a small bar with three TVs blaring Sky Sports and a life-sized cutout of Donald Trump in the corner? Owned by Greene King, it is puzzling who is managing this establishment. Better options can be found nearby in Great Ouseburn or Marton cum Grafton.

My family of six, who were staying at a nearby house, made a reservation for Sunday roasts at this restaurant. Half of us ordered Turkey, while the other half ordered Beef. The meal was excellent - it was served hot and there was plenty of it. The highlight for me was the Horse Radish sauce, which was amazing and really made my nose tingle. The staff at the restaurant were friendly, welcoming, and did a fantastic job, which made the meal very enjoyable.
