"We stopped off at BoA for a bite to eat came across this little gem, wasnt sure I wanted a pie, but the menu looked great. So we ordered a steak stilton steak cheese, they came with fries or mash and green veg gravy. Pies were filled t the brim with meat, very tasty and pastry was light fluffy. They are definitely worth the award winning accolade. The whole meal was buearuful , so filling. Staff were so friendly and inviting. My dog was even looked after by the lovely waiter. 5 stars and more"

Absolutely brilliant roast dinner. It has changed hands and is now very good. Lovely garden/patio. Dog friendly. I will definitely return. Had a lovely time there today.

The roast dinners at this restaurant are fantastic. We tried both the beef and lamb, and the meat was incredibly tender. It's a shame we didn't have time to stay and try the pies.

Never again. When this was the pie place, it was amazing. Now, it’s just awful. Terrible beer and service, and so run down. Toilet missing seat, dangerous steps inside which are broken falling away, damaged tables outside.

What can be said again another pub switched into an Indian with a menu as long as your arm and cheap booze to try and counter the awful food, weird and ruined maybe just try being a sports bar with every sport under the sun on like you already have! View menu

We chose the restaurant over the bar. It was rather cold but our waiter plugged in a portable heater which helped enormously. Our meals however warmed us up, hot, spicy and totally delicious. Bollywood Massala, Lababda, Nan, Pilau Rice and Saag Aloo.

This is undoubtedly a fantastic historic inn with well-maintained ales and top-notch food, possibly the best in the Trowbridge area. However, the owner's arrogant attitude and sarcastic remarks while taking our order made us feel very uncomfortable. It marred what could have been a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Discovered The Bear whilst searching for somewhere to have Sunday lunch. Two roast beef, one Caesar salad and a mushroom and Stilton pie later we were all impressed. The largest, crispiest Yorkshire puddings (also with the pie) and magnificent meals with as much on the plate as anyone could wish for. Good service with a smile and really good value. We were impressed. A very happy accident. View menu

I walked into the restaurant on steak night and decided to order 2 rib eyes and a vegetable burrito. All the dishes were cooked perfectly and portions were generous. It's definitely worth a visit. The bartender/waiter/host, while busy working alone, still managed to give us great service. The only downside is that the limited menu might deter some customers from coming back. Overall, a great experience.

We haven't been here for a while and dropped in for a pie only to discover it had become a pub/curry house. Unperturbed we pushed on (there are worse things that could befall us). The chutneys with the pops, most notably the lime pickle, were fresh and delicious. The three mains, all off the specials section, where good to better and the dhall was utterly lovely. We will definitely come back or maybe order a takeaway when I will check out some of the classics; chicken dhansak anyone?
