"My wife and I have recently moved to Sandbach so decided we would book Sunday lunch at the Bears Head. It exceeded our expectations, the food was absolutely first class and the staff where so friendly and helpful. The pub is very old with a great ambience and atmosphere, we were so impressed that before leaving we booked a table for 2 for lunch on Boxing Day! Also the prices where excellent considering the standard of food. I would recommend the Bears Head."

Fabulous pub with loads of character. Food is carefully prepared and presented and tasted great. Warm and friendly rooms and open fire make it welcoming on a chilly winter's day.

As frequent customers, we found that there were several items on the menu that weren't available. This happens every time we dine at the Bear's Head. This is poor organisation, spoiling what should be an enjoyable occasion. View menu

I haven't been with the bears head for a few years, but was pleased that it was just as good as I remembered. beautiful log fires and cordial greetings and a great menu to choose from. the suppe was delicious, but could have done with something more and possibly more brot. the minipuddings were also a great idea, but the eton mess was essentially cream and very little that was disappointed. but we will be back.

We have been going to the Bears Head for a couple of years for special occasions. They must have a new Chef because the Sunday Roast Beef was red and 2 people at the table didn't enjoy it. I couldn't eat mine and swapped with someone else. The latest trend to serve red meat isn't to everyone's taste. The parsnip was so al dente that I couldn't cut it with my knife!! I thought I was just being picky, so didn't complain.

"I have driven past this establishment a number of times and seen that it stocks a decent variety of whisky and is much closer to home than other whisky shops. I finally decided to pop in the other day and see how the shop's selection fared compared to my usual whisky merchants in Knutsford and Chester (both excellent with brilliant customer service . I saw a product I was interested in purchasing, however, when I asked what the price wad (there was no label and no shelf price the owner informed me that there was no set price and may be over £100 it would depend! He also asked me if I was purchasing the whisky to collect or drink (with much respect, I feel this is none of his business, although I will say I purchase whisky to drink and enjoy... . The owner seemed uninterested in making a sale and after giving these blunt remarks he wandered off to the back of the shop never to be seen again. This experience left me very perplexed and disappointed. I understand whisky prices can fluctuate due to supply/demand etc. but I would suggest it is the owner's responsibility to be aware of such price fluctuations and price his stock accordingly and competitively. In my previous experiences in similar establishments good customer service is one of the key drivers of sales a positive, friendly and knowledgeable whisky merchant who gives sage advice and doesn't come across as wanting to rip the customer off will always be more successful and this was sorely lacking on this occasion. On this experience, all I can say is I won't be visiting this store again in future and will stick with the far better service in other stores. This review does not include the deli/restaurant perhaps the owner may be providing a better experience to customers in this part of the business but I can only comment on my experience."

"My partner and I had a late valentines treat here after we tried their waffles a few weeks previous. It is a lovely little place with nice decor and the open kitchen with the smell of 00 flour and sourdough baking made me anticipate what was to come. The staff were attentive. Sometimes you can feel rushed but they were quick on their feet, problem solvers and really polite. We shared some pulled pork fries to start which were fantastic. I usually don't go for loaded fries because they are usually soggy but these were crisp with perfectly slow cooked pork to match. Our pizza had a few hurdles getting to us, with the first one catching on the pizza oven and the one being sent out missing a few of our ad ons. They stated they would remake the pizza but we were okay with our pizzsand said they didn't need to remake it. The pizza was absolutely delight. It is light, with complex layer of flavours, a fantastic tomato base and a pizza base that was so good my partner ate the crusts which is something I have never witnessed. The waffles were delicious. The waffles have an incredible rich buttery taste and fab crunch with toppings to match. Simple ,tasty delights to end the meal. When it came time to settle we got a lovely surprise with a free pizza to take home to make up for the issues they had with our pizza. Really sweet and not needed at all for our return business. The table next to us had these amazing looking burgers which we will try next time. Finally, the lindors at the end were a welcome treat as someonenever likes the mints or sweets at the end to be able to have one finally joyful bit"
