"What a gorgeous place to stay, with charming staff, a lovely room and great food. We arrived early, before check in time, but were instantly made to feel welcome. Our luggage which had been previously delivered by baggage handlers had been already taken to our room (something which we discovered very few people do, so bonus points for that). We ate a delicious lunch before retiring to our room which was clean and well supplied. There was a buzzing atmosphere in the pub at dinner time, with several other walkers, cyclists and locals and once again the food and service was excellent. Breakfast was a similar experience and we headed off for a very long day's walking feeling refreshed and happy. We would definitely recommend a stay at this charming pub; thanks to all involved in making our stay so pleasant."

We were staying in the area on a very rainy day so booked in for lunch. Superb pizzas all round which were very well cooked and varied in their toppings. Great quick service and happily accommodated our two dogs.

I took a group of 22 walkers for Sunday lunch after a walk. The food was outstanding. People said it was the nicest Sunday lunch they had ever had and I have to agree. Superb service from start to finish and wonderful food. You can't go wrong if you book for lunch here. We will be back!

Went in on a Sunday afternoon as we saw the pub on our way home. So glad we did. Food was amazing. Reasonably priced too for the amount you get. Couldn’t get through it all. The young girl on the bar was lovely. She was busy but very friendly. Well worth a stop. Oh and dog friendly too. View menu

"We love PPA and have been coming here as a family for a couple of years, since moving to Winchester. It has been a real shame that lockdown has prevented them from operating as usual it was great to go back tonight for a treat, just the two of us. The front of house greeting and service was superb, and we really felt welcomed. Drinks and food orders were taken quickly, and the waiter returned to check that the order received by the kitchen was correct (far better than risking getting it wrong). Wine was ice cold and served properly. Starters were very nice, although in our gluttony we ordered too much the Thai ribs are melt in the mouth tender meat, and the size of a small steak. Partner's lemongrass fish skewers were likewise lovely. We also ordered the tempura vegetables, which were divinely crispy and tasty and I ate too many...... My main course of coconut/cashew crusted chicken on top of mango salad was lovely, the crunch was great against the sharp fruity salad. Partner had sea bass loved it. Far too full to consider dessert but that was our fault entirely. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent restaurant the fact that the waiter looked concerned at my not competely cleared plate (which was due to my aforementioned gluttony) and asked if everything had been OK just exemplifies how much the team cares about their customers. There was a kind, understanding smile offered when we pointed out we were completely stuffed, though! Tiny point to conform (I think) with govt regs re: COVID 19 the ceiling fans/air con were on full blast and it was freezing cold. Management sorted it out quickly by turning it down when we pointed out the temperature issue take a cardigan though. A really great restaurant with a really great manager and whole team. Such a pleasure to eat at PPA we will be back."
