"This charming country pub is adorned with framed photos of horses and horse riders. It boasts a spacious garden that can easily accommodate 100 people, as well as a large car park in the back. Families with children will appreciate the outdoor play area equipped with swings and a climbing frame. The pub exudes a cozy and authentic atmosphere, but the standout feature is the food. The majority of ingredients are sourced locally, resulting in generously portioned dishes. The sausages are sourced from a farm in Alresford, and the menu includes a homemade venison burger made with local ingredients. Guests can also enjoy a selection of local ales, including the pub's own golden Hinton ale, which is particularly delicious. Highly recommended."

"EDIT 19/11/2023, we were invited back to try again (on the house sweet gesture) I must say this was the best experience here so far so, blankets for outside dining, roast beef was delicious, service was exceptional my previous concerns were just a blip in service! We’ll continue to come back ! ——— This was our 4th visit on a Sunday early evening in the past 2 months. For context, the previous times were great in terms of service and food hence the repeat business. This time was a disappointment. We booked for 18:30 online to have an outdoor table. We arrived and the outdoor area was shut, fine, but it wasn’t acknowledged. We sat indoors and had a coke each. The coke was very weak and you could see it even without needing to taste it. We asked for replacements and they explained they needed to replace the syrup as it was running out. Ok. Our roast beef arrived and the parsnip was dried out and inedible, couldn’t even cut through it, the carrot was part cremated, The greens were undercooked barely blanched. The cauliflower cheese was flavourless, I’d say it was missing the cheese. The potatoes were few, I think I had 3 tiny ones on my plate. The gravy was lovely though. We ate what we could and by the time we finished our roast our drinks arrived. Ordered puddings as we were still hungry. The puddings were ok! Paid full price plus the 12.5% service fee for below average service and the dregs of what the kitchen had left. If the kitchen can’t provide consistant quality food then I’d suggest to limit the amount of covers for the day. Maybe this was a bad day but I made the comment about the roast quality to the lady serving us so the kitchen had the feedback but no one seemed to care. It’s a real shame as I’d rather put my hard earned money into the pockets of family run, independent businesses but I don’t know if I’d spend another £70+ for two people here. There’s better cooked food for better prices elsewhere."

"My wife and I had arrived in Alresford around 4pm and found most cafes had just shut, including our target. We were about to give up when we stumbled across Tiffin Tea Rooms, where we were welcomed and served a top notch tea and cake combination in an airy, clean and well-spaced room. Everyone was chatty and friendly. And the loo was exemplary!"

"Came in last Sunday with family for some scones and coffees. Scones were tasty but everything else was unfortunately very poor.The brunette waitress had an attitude on her from the moment we walked in...chef kept interrupting my sister when she was ordering and being rude whilst sitting on his phone.Blonde waitress was super lovely and should probably work somewhere else where she can be better treated.The brunette waitress got an order wrong and all she needed to do was get some cream and jam for the scones but made a fuss about it and tried to blame the error on my family member who placed the order (customer’s alright right, right?)Whether you’re right or not, just get on with it and be polite because that’s your job.The blonde lady apologised for the error bless her and everything was fine until...We then heard the brunette waitress talking about us behind our back to the rest of her colleagues (other waitress and chef) ?! Moaning about the error and how we’re stupid and got the order wrong.Very embarrassing and ridiculously unprofessional.I’m mainly writing this review in support of Anthony’s review (17/08) as I was out with him and our family and can fully support the issues we both experienced.Don’t go there if you want a nice experience."

"Despite all the positive reviews I've heard, I have to say I was quite disappointed. The pub has a lovely, cozy atmosphere, and the staff are friendly. However, the food fell short of expectations. The "Beef with creamy mushroom sauce" was on par with school cafeteria meals. It was served in a pasta bowl with low-quality white rice and broccoli that was undercooked. For the price, I expected something much better."
