"Following a fantastic Friday evening in the pub with live music, we were delighted to find out that the pub were serving a full English breakfast on the Saturday morning. Nursing a bit of a sore head, and booking with friends the previous night, we all met as agreed at 10.30am and were greeted by Kieron Callum and treated to a fantastic English fry up. Superb ingredients and great value for money! I would hope this is served up again in the coming weeks and months and would highly recommend this to anyone that’s in the Minehead area. Keep it up chaps; Respect"

Great Sunday lunch here, choice of 3 meats, good service, good value, surprised at how quiet it was.

I have been a local for 11 years and must say that the current landlord and staff are the best for a long time! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is very family friendly. They do their best to cater to everyone's needs.

This is an old pub, located at the heart of the village. Has some very old features, such as a pebble floor. Seems to date from 17th century. We got a pleasant welcome. We visited just for coffees, which were decent. Seems to be a sports pub, maybe focussing on horse racing.

I've lived in carhampton for 22years and only started to go over the pub regularly when new owners took over they are doing a great job very friendly and welcoming couldn't ask for better people to be running the pub fingers crossed they get to stay and keep our village pub going well done to them xx

The village pub is fantastic. The current owners put in a lot of effort to be a part of the community by hosting events and providing entertainment. The food is excellent. The Sunday lunch I had was cooked perfectly and the prices were reasonable. It's great to see local residents supporting the owners' hard work.

We came in for drinks on a Saturday and it was welcoming but quite empty, it’s a big space as well. On the Sunday we decided to try the carvery and it was probably the best carvery I’ve had for a long time. Only slight niggle was there wasn’t much of vegetable options. Was very busy on the Sunday afternoon so it’s best to book prior

Thought we'd pop down to our local for a quick drink early evening. Sad to say were given the once over by a group at the bar, not particularly welcoming or friendly, and neither were the bar staff. Because of this and after a very expensive round we chose to drink outside. Although we try to support our local pub, we definitely won't bother going back anymore.

My family and I were staying in Carhampton and had passed by this restaurant many times. We are so happy we finally decided to dine here because the food was fantastic. I ordered the gammon egg and chips, which was the best I've had in a long time. My husband had the fish and chips, and my son had the chicken burger. We all agreed that the food was delicious. We highly recommend this charming pub to anyone who enjoys good food at a reasonable price. They are also dog-friendly with water and treats available.

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
