"I’m *NOT* a local resident but was appalled at the lack of respect shown to residents living directly opposite the pub. It’s a quiet area and the small pedestrian area outside is regarded as a playground by the pubs clientele: children run around screaming unchallenged, sometimes on scooters, which must really disturb the people living opposite. Today there were children sitting in the doorway of a front garden, sat on the step, chalking on the pathway leading to that property’s front door. Front garden walls contain lost children’s toys propped up for by-passers to collect and forgotten empty glasses. The noise is loud and on the several times I’ve had to visit there, it’s never unchallenged. I find it really bad manners and rude and I’m very thankful that I don’t live anywhere near it!"

Lovely corner pub we were recommended by a local and it did not disappoint! Friendly staff, yummy food and a chill cozy romantic vibe for a Friday eve.

Haven’t had such a yummy roast in such a long time and this was by far the best so far in the area! Well priced, huge and delicious! Staff very lovely and great service. Will definitely be back!

although we were wondering about it, we went to a cache instead of in a pub, enjoyed my first visit. sat outside, service was good, eating was great! will definitely return and would certainly recommend

This place has always been nice but my recent visit the food really stood out. The Jerk chicken was lovely. Not sure if they changed the recipe, as I am sure last time I had it, it was good but it was that good.

Sunday one of my favorites roasted! on Sunday we have a nice lunch in the beer garden on the back. the food was fast and delicious. they have a good choice in beer. service is also beautiful! the best places in walthamstow!

really friendly staff and great atmosphere. I was first for Sunday dinner and it is very busy, so bookable! nice selection of drinks with a beautiful beer garden from the back. very family-friendly, so there are in the regular many children on a Sunday, only fyi! dog-friendly I also think.

the hotel is located in walthamstow 'village ' aka a street with some boutique shops, this classic east london gastro pub. it has all clichés, the board games, the posh pub snacks, the local ales. the menu is short with some interesting choices, I chose a pan roasted duck breast on a potato beetroot mash with a kale. the dish was perfectly boiled, beautiful pink duck, beautiful sweet maische with a delicious jus. my friends ordered the burgers said they were exceptionally juicy, tastefully good quality. we shared some British cheeses to finish all washed with a good decent bottle red. this place may look like a cliché, but it is much more then that.

We went on a Tuesday night , fairly quiet, beer garden closed even though 27 degrees which is odd. The beers were ok, service was slow. The food was dire. The burgers were so small it was less than a kids portion. Couple of cold chips, the lemon cheese cake wasn’t a cheese cake but a cheap store bought lemon sponge from a corner store. Was grim. Would probably go for a drink if they allow the customers to use the outside area (as it is summer) but plenty of better places in the village which were all rammed at 7pm hence why we had to go to the castle. They have a couple tables in the front but they are reserved for the locals (I’m a local for 39 years btw)
