"One of our favorite pubs in Gosport! Unfortunately, we hadn’t visited in a while due to COVID-19 and the pandemic. It has always been a warm and friendly place with great food, but the decor was a bit tired. During the last lockdown, the pub was renovated and now it has retained all its charm while looking fantastic! If you find yourself in the area, it's a must-try. For lunch early or mid-week, you probably won’t need to book, but definitely make a reservation for Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Christmas dates fill up quickly too!"

Good pub food with generous portions. The beer is always kept well. Traditional pub right by the ferry and marina. Great friendly atmosphere and staff. Highly recommended

Lovely food, very friendly and happy members of staff. The portions sizes were amazing. Everything is really well priced and clean. I would love to give The Castle Tavern more than 5 stars. I'd highly recommend going here.

Dinner for five in this no nonsense pub. Good food with generous helpings. Attentive, friendly bar staff. Convenient for sailors from Gosport Marina and only a short 15 minute walk from Royal Clarence marina. Definitely a well run pub. View menu

Nice pub where sailors meet and party, in particular the Clipper trainees. Great salad plates for lunch. Perfect fish n chips for dinner and other fine food. Great beers too. Good atmosphere in and outside. Staff, in particular Rosie, very friendly and quick. Will visit again!

Have been here a couple of times recently, during the week I had lasagne which was the best tasting one ever then went for Sunday lunch, which you must book a table for a maximum of 2 hours, a lamb dinner with all the trimmings for £5.95 (OAP), couldn't fault it scrummy gravy. Highly recommended, looking forward to going again.

This restaurant is situated in a fantastic location near the marina in Gosport. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making for a pleasant experience. It was nice to see a diverse crowd enjoying their meals, which is often the case during Sunday dinner. I have no complaints about the place and would definitely recommend it! View menu

If you want an authentic looking English pub this is it. Very typical pub grub and the beverages to accompany. Excellent value for money, the roast beef was a bit tough but portion were generous. It might be a good idea to make a reservation as 80% of the table were reserved when we attended. Wait staff was effecient and friendly. It would have been more complete if horse radish was included in the table condiments.

We weren't locals, so we stumbled upon this restaurant almost by accident. What a discovery! The place was bustling, as it was open all day, but we managed to get a table because of a cancellation. I ordered the fried meat with spuds and Yorkshire pudding, and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was tender, the portions were generous, and the vegetables were perfect for sharing. Great value for money, and the staff were lovely, making our experience even better. I definitely recommend making a reservation, as it's quite popular!
