The Coach House - Menu

The owners were very pleasant and even taxied us around a bit. The food is very good. Plenty of it and so much choice. We stayed 2 nights in Room 12. I must admit the surroundings around the rooms need to be tidied up. Old cars and lorries do not make for a nice view. The room was very clean though, which after all is the most important. We could not fault the staff and food.

When I’m with my dad this is one of our favourite pubs for lunch. Always a lovely welcome and we love the home cooking instead of standard defrosted microwaved fare in other pubs. Today dad had ham hock hash followed by a vegan knickerbocker glory and I had the vegan pie of the day, “chicken” which came with fabulous mashed potatoes and veggies and plenty of gravy. Everything was perfect.

The Open Mike evening was an incredible informal evening of talented musicians and quality restaurant menu. It was fun all the way! Thank you. Also, we shared a wonderful 80th birthday celebration where we had a complete section to ourselves. The caring attention, quality food, great service, excellent value enabled us to enjoy our own music and sharing of memories…even the family pet was allowed to stay! Highly recommend. Last night 10 of us celebrated our friend's Birthday at this pub on Godstone Green. We go here regularly, as the hosts John and Tracey, and the food, are both excellent. Last night they surpassed themselves, my fish n chips were the best I’ve ever tasted and their steaks with crispy onions are divine. In these troubled times when pubs are trying to get back on their feet, it doesn’t hurt to give them a shout-out, especially when you get great service, food, and a calming atmosphere.

The presentation of the food, the huge portions, the passionate chef, the lovely staff (family run and very warm feel) ..makes this place, BRILLIANT! Plus the Veggie/vegan options are by far the best around.. hotdogs! Ice-cream sundaes! Vegan cheese board... There is no end to the wonders of their menu. You have to go and support! Plus, they have a lovely cat around called Donut.. so you might even get a stroke! I'm so glad to have found this place and I'm drooling looking at the pictures I have. Thank you !

A family business hit by the cover pandemic during which it received little financial support, but with their strong determination and character the owners Tracey and John will make the most of this restaurant's potential.Smiling faces, super service, excellent home cooking food at very reasonable prices is the strength on which they can build. When finances allow for the dining room to be redecorated and attractive fixtures installed, this restaurant will be a winner and highly recommended. I look forward to coming back. Good luck! First impressions from the outside are really off putting. The front carpark is partially blocked by an old estate car and the back carpark almost full of scrap delapidated vehicles of all types. There are fridge and washing machine and kegs scattered about the grounds as well. This may have something to do with storm damage that’s mentioned but it should be cleared away completely not left to walk past on way to restaurant. Why the owners would want this as a reflection of their business beggars belief. Inside it’s supposed to be in the process of renovation but from the front entrance onwards the decor is very tatty and once again sets a poor impresssion. The food is ok but as someone else...

This is not a pub for a celebration meal. Mothers Day family lunch celebration was ruined in so many ways, it wd take me too long to give all the details. Whilst the staff were welcoming trying very hard, it was just terrible in so many ways. Even though we were asked to pre order all of our food, thr first course took over 40 mins to arrive. There was 35mins between 1st 2 course. The whole meal took 2hrs 45 mins we are not slow eaters. There was a hair in my mushroom olive pate. We ordered 2 GF meals for people with coeliac they kept forgetting bringing non GF bread Yorkshire pudding. The sirloin steak was tough, the chips frozen tasteless. This is the 3rd pub in Godstone my friend and I have been. Unfortunately didn’t get off to the best start as I pulled in directly behind a lady in a large vehicle who then suddenly stopped mid way into the carpark, started reversing (evidently having not seen me waiting behind her) and then became angry and rude gesticulating at me as I sat there patiently trying to figure out what was happening.
