"We came to The Eyre Arms today for Mother’s Day lunch, on arrival the First Lady that served me behind the bar made me laugh straight away she was lovely, we arrived earlier than the time we booked so we decided to sit and have a drink in the bar. Just sat down and another member of staff gave me and my mother in law a glass of prosecco each and wished us both a happy Mother’s Day we was told our table was ready and we could go to it when we was ready, was not made to feel rushed which was nice we ordered our food when it came it was lush every one of our party of five ordered something different and each meal was as perfect as the next! I would really recommend coming here I had a perfect Mother’s Day. Well done and thank you to all the staff XX we will see you soon"

Not been in a while since it closed a while ago. Now re-opened while not an extensive menu, I'd rather places did fewer things well rather than try to do too much. I had the classic burger chips it was tasty, hot reasonably priced. Staff friendly helpful. They're also starting to do breakfasts up until 12, so I will be trying that out as well. View menu

excellent hostess! we have baptized our sons here and could not choose a better place! the functional space is huge and very versatile, with its own private bar tim and jim let us decorate how we wanted and could not have been helpful, these two are top boys and go away there to make them feel welcome and cared for! Many thanks to you both! we're coming back! that's not like that. x

had a nice Sunday dinner in the eyre arms. on the menu there was a lot of choice and the Sunday dinner was nice, the portion size was great and came from piping hot (yorkshire puddings were delicious! the staff was very polite and service was great. the bar area is very well presented and dogs are also welcome with the additional bonus of tasty in a glass in the bar for them, it is the small touches that makes the place very inviting I definitely return and would highly recommend View menu

I had the baptism of my life in the working room yesterday. it is such a great space and after the use of the eyre arms for the baptism of my daughter 3 years ago we decided to come back. there was a change of property, but tim was so helpful and friendly. he went out of his way to bring what we wanted and was always at the hand of the day to help in anyway he could. the buffet she laid was excellent and everyone commented on how good the service was. the children also have space to play back. I recommend the eyre arms as a venue.

my partner, his daughter, and I went to lunch this afternoon. I had the frying pig, my partner had the best on Sunday. everything was so delicious! yum! his daughter (7) asked if she could have something different than roast. the lady who took our order has adapted a great meal for them, although it was not on the menu. pub has a beautiful ambiente and was busy there during our time. it has not stopped checking the employees on us and ensuring that we were happy during our meal. we had the coc fudge cake for dessert. fab! highly recommended!

"The Goats Cheese Tart starter and Rack of Lamb main were both very good. The chips part of the Cod and Chips was good but the Cod certainly wasn’t. The batter was thin and soggy and the fish itself was wet and lacked flavour. The solitary waitress coped brilliantly but was very busy so it was not easy to attract her attention to complain. Had I done so I would presumably have been offered a replacement fish which would no doubt have been the same, or perhaps a different meal which would have meant a long wait judging by how long we had waited for our initial order and me eating on my own while my partner would have had to sit watching me, having long finished her meal. I therefore lumped my way through it, I was hungry after all, that's why we where there. When the waitress came to clear the plates I told her of my dissatisfaction with the fish and drew her attention to the pile of soggy batter and fish I had left on the plate. She said she would inform the chef. She brought the bill without comment so I asked her whether she had informed the Chef and asked what his response had been. She said he had said sorry. I said that if he was sorry why was there no adjustment to the bill? She said she would go back and ask him. She returned to inform me that he said that as I had eaten it I had to pay for it. What an attitude, what poor PR. Our first and last visit to Charlies. Note. I couldn't bring myself to tip the waitress under the circumstances which was unfortunate because she was working very hard and unsupported and it wasn't her fault. Perhaps Chef, or Charlie, you would have the decency to dip into your own pocket and give her the £7 she didn't get from me thanks to your poor attitude."
