"My husband and I went to this restaurant for lunch. Unfortunately, compared to our previous visits, the place seemed neglected. The tables were sticky and there was a loud group in the pool room playing rap music with a lot of swearing, despite the fact that the restaurant markets itself as family-friendly. The food was basic and cheap, lacking in quality and flavor. I ordered the homemade steak and kidney pie, which had very little steak and mostly watery gravy. The chips were clearly frozen and cheap. We were disappointed to learn that the restaurant had changed ownership, and we will not be returning."

Really good home cooked food. Eat here on a few occasions always fresh and very reasonably priced. Cheap beer too.

Lovely food. Made to feel welcome. Staff friendly. Looking forward to the beer fest on Saturday. It's a great place to go for lunch.

similar experience to others in that we had a very long and tedious wait with no apology and when the food came it definitely wasn't worth the wait. Terrible food, terrible service. Just don't waste your time and money.

When for a meal with friends and family. The bar staff were really freindly and the food was great. Good prices as well and the meal and a pint deal rivals Wetherspoons. Had the home made meat and potato pie. Was great. The meat was very meaty View menu

Even though it has a new name, this restaurant still offers a carvery, and during the summer they have a salad bar for only £4.95 with all you can eat options. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. I will definitely visit again.

I visited this restaurant on Thursday after work and noticed that there were many new customers who were very friendly. They were offering free homemade Chicken Curry with Rice and Garlic Bread with the only requirement being a donation. The food was delicious and the staff were also very nice. I would recommend stopping by for a visit.

Friendly staff. Visited after a long walk with the kids and dog. Unfortunately they have one option is you are a vegetarian....chips or an egg sandwich. Has things on the menu like burgers, shepherds pie, lasagna. Kids had a cheese burger, all enjoyed it and came with a fresh little side salad. The lack of a vegi option means it's not the best for us so wouldn't return to eat but a good little pub with our door seating. View menu

What is wrong with this place , it used to be a good place to go , I have been going on and off most of my life , in the last few years it has changed hands more than a pack of cards . I have avoided the place since I had a dissappointing meal , but as a local I decided to try for another 'last visit , what a terible experience , bad food bad service , it always shows to me when I enter a pub/restuarant on Saturday evening and there is a lonely old man sat at the bar and no other customers that the place is bad , time for another deal of the cards I think , somebody must win one day..

"A special Event in a special Restaurant. My Wife and I visited the Holiday Inn near Bolton town centre for a special birthday treat in early June 2016. We had pre booked a table in the superb Hardies Restaurant and on arrival we were quickly shown to our table by the very efficient young lady who looked after us all evening She was very attentive without being obtrusive, Starters were chosen, ordered, and delivered within about 15 minutes. Kathleen’s Pate was a rather generous portion and she declared that it was at least as good as any she had tasted before. My choice was deep fried Goats cheese, this was very authentic and enjoyable. For Mains we finally settled on A Lamb shank for Kath which she said was Amazing, whilst I settled for the superb Cod in batter with chips and peas, a simple traditional dish but beautiful and rather large portion. Desserts took us quite a few minutes to decide on. Kath chose Hot apple pudding with a vanilla sauce. I decided on a fresh fruit salad with ice cream served on a large platter I counted nine different fruits all seasonal and extremely fresh. We both tasted each other’s desserts the apple pudding was also very nice. The waitress offered us cheese and biscuits but quite honestly by this time we were to put it bluntly, stuffed. The verdict was a truly excellent meal, time to retreat to the adjoining bar for a pleasant hours relaxation. To conclude we made the right choice to have our special event at Hardies and we will definitely visit again. Thanks to all concerned."
