"A special Event in a special Restaurant. My Wife and I visited the Holiday Inn near Bolton town centre for a special birthday treat in early June 2016. We had pre booked a table in the superb Hardies Restaurant and on arrival we were quickly shown to our table by the very efficient young lady who looked after us all evening She was very attentive without being obtrusive, Starters were chosen, ordered, and delivered within about 15 minutes. Kathleen’s Pate was a rather generous portion and she declared that it was at least as good as any she had tasted before. My choice was deep fried Goats cheese, this was very authentic and enjoyable. For Mains we finally settled on A Lamb shank for Kath which she said was Amazing, whilst I settled for the superb Cod in batter with chips and peas, a simple traditional dish but beautiful and rather large portion. Desserts took us quite a few minutes to decide on. Kath chose Hot apple pudding with a vanilla sauce. I decided on a fresh fruit salad with ice cream served on a large platter I counted nine different fruits all seasonal and extremely fresh. We both tasted each other’s desserts the apple pudding was also very nice. The waitress offered us cheese and biscuits but quite honestly by this time we were to put it bluntly, stuffed. The verdict was a truly excellent meal, time to retreat to the adjoining bar for a pleasant hours relaxation. To conclude we made the right choice to have our special event at Hardies and we will definitely visit again. Thanks to all concerned."

The staff was fantastic, but I waited a long time for my food. I found it to be overpriced, especially since you had to pay extra for side dishes like potatoes or vegetables.

The restaurant is a lovely spot with excellent service from friendly staff during breakfast and dinner. Prices are fair and the portion sizes are good. My only recommendation would be to enhance the variety of options at the salad bar, as it is quite limited.

The restaurant has a beautiful dining area with a varied selection of buffet options for breakfast. They also offer gluten-free breakfast options if requested ahead of time. The service is exceptional and the evening meal was delicious. Furthermore, they provide a separate menu for gluten-free options.

This restaurant is in the holiday inn Bolton. I had dinner on a Thursday night and it was very quiet, only myself and 3 people. I had the 2 course special, the portions were reasonably sized but the food was average at best. There aren't too many good food options in Bolton but I would only choose this if I were staying in the hotel and didn't want to venture out.

We went here with family and had 5 different meals from their menu. Plenty of choice we varied from steak to burger. It was spotless with soft music in the background which set the scene. Wevwete greeted with 2 chaps who gave us a warm welcome and made us relaxed. My father in law said it was the best steak he had tasted for a while. My son enjoyed the American burger and the cheesecake. My wife had a chicken keiv my mother in law chargrilled chichen and I had the chichen madras. The waiters said it was a new menu which was very impressive. Not one of us said they had a bad meal. If I was to say anything I expected more bite from the madras. We will definitely be going back for an enjoyable...

Regular visitor lovely welcome from staff new menu so bit of confusion but soon managed to find something we both liked. King prawn cocktail starter £8 and chicken wings £6.50 main courses blade of beef £15ish and chicken with pesto £13ish only disappointment was drink service, hubby wanted a pint of stella and was informed no longer did draught no problem he got something else and I asked for a glass of house white (large). Before the main courses arrived hubby had a quick look at what bottles were available and low and behold Stella in a bottle so he ordered that and I got a second wine.
