7 of us had Christmas meal today and we all agree it was the best Christmas meal we have had. Loads of meat and several vegetables. Was very hot and nothing too much trouble for the staff. Well done everyone

The drinks and menu at this restaurant are fairly average. The surroundings are okay, as well as the service and value. The outdoor space that used to be available seems to have vanished, which is disappointing. It would be great to have a more dog-friendly atmosphere again.

The Garden House was one of the pub/restaurants I visited most weeks before Covid. My recent visit was the first since then. Sadly it wasn’t even close to what it once was. There is now no free parking at the back of the pub although paid parking is nearby. We ordered fish and chips. Pretty standard pub grub but neither the fish or chips were particularly hot. Without sounding too negative it Wasn’t a nice dinner. The Sunday dinner was advertised with roast parsnips, Savoy cabbage and red cabbage and carrot medley but came with broccoli, carrots and cauliflower,I did question this and the waitress said they had a delivery issue. turkey was very salty and shiny and looked like it had been ordered in pre cooked, ended up leaving most of the meal and only ate potatoes, carrots and Yorkshire puddings. Gave feedback to waiter and he said he would make a note. All in all really disappointed as the food used to be amazing. Won’t be returning

This restaurant was absolutely terrible, do not waste your money. It was completely empty, the staff were difficult to find and borderline rude. Despite being expensive, the food was terrible. My friend had fish and chips, with the fish tasting and looking like it came from the microwave, and half of the chips were undercooked. The salad was mostly lettuce with many stalks, a tiny amount of diced peppers, and only a few slices of cucumber. The portion size was small, with less than a full chicken breast and no bacon or avocado as listed on the menu, all for $24.48. Terrible from the start. We were a large party (11 in total) booked in ahead of time for Mothers Day Sunday lunch. There was a set menu with few choices which makes the terrible experience even more concerning. We arrived in time for 2pm booking. Whole pub and restaurant was quiet with not many tables full. By 4pm we had only had starters and no information being shared as to why food was not coming out. Other tables had walked out and they were happy to cancel what was ordered (again another worry). We have been twice now. The first time for food. We ordered a few 'nibbles '. Two of the dishes never turned up. We were told that they were missed off the check by the kitchen, then a mother staff member admitted that they were never actually ordered by the girl behind the bar. After asking 4 times, they just never turned up and we gave up trying. The food we did have was okay- nothing special. But very cheap so can 't complain. As a group of 15 people, it seems like common sense would dictate that the manager should have informed the other guests that the area was reserved, asked them to move, and perhaps even offered them a complimentary drink. However, the manager was unwilling to accommodate us, resulting in the loss of business from 15 potential customers. If this is how he manages the restaurant, I would have serious concerns about his ability to run a successful business. We pre-booked a table for Mother’s Day Lunch, only a week prior. This should have set alarm bells as all decent restaurants were fully booked by this point. We arrived on time and the pub was empty. We were shown to a table and presented with the menu, I had to go to the bar and request a children’s menu as we had our two kids with us.
