"It is, I believe, one of the Wetherspoons pubs scheduled to be sold. I can understand why. Not the most interesting of buildings. Clearly has had no refurbishment for years . It was unusually empty for a Spoons. And we were treated to loud noises from upstairs, banging doors when staff took things like rubbish out, and barstaff who insisted on throwing empty bottles into two large plastic containers. Why they could not take one step further and place them quietly in the containers beats me. It felt like you were in a breaker's yard. The food, my wife assures me, was fine. I am a fan of Wetherspoons pubs ..cannot pass one without going in. This one is one I might just manage to resist ..unless I need to eat. It would then be tolerable. If the Devil drives needs must. But after we leave Crediton it will not be one I would rush back to if in the area. There are several lovely Spoons in Exeter, just down the road. And this one has the added distinction of being the only spoons we have been to...and we have been to a few! ...with no pizzas available! Inexplicable. Full stop...NONE . I have never before found fault with a Spoons. The breakfast I had was awful. The most tasteless sausages I have ever had the misfortune to sample."

Absolutely fantastic experience. The son and daughter team treated my husband and I to a wonderful breakfast. We were promptly served by friendly and efficient staff. We couldn't be more grateful. Thank you for a delicious meal!

This restaurant is a fantastic option for a quick and affordable meal. It's always a great choice for breakfast or lunch, especially on cold and rainy days. The price per person typically falls between £10 to £20. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a 5-star rating.

A great place. What a shame it will be closing in a few weeks. Obviously, the company who owns this pub is not really concerned with the town or keeping important community places like this going. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Fish and Chips, Southern Fried Chicken and Smoky Chipotle May Wrap

Lovely Spoons is located on the main street. It is unclear whether the restaurant used to be a hotel or a bank, but it likely was the former. The seating is spread out across multiple levels. We visited during the beer festival and there were still plenty of ales available. The staff was exceptionally friendly and gave us helpful tips on buses and trains to explore the surrounding area.

"I know that cancellation policies are in place for a reason, for the 'no shows ' and for people who do not respect the 24 hour cancellation policy. I can only assume that this is the reason that this establishment has this in place. Sadly, on the morning of the booking, I had to rush my father to A and E. My husband rang to let the restaurant know as soon as we knew that we would not make it. This was because we cared and wanted them to be informed as soon as possible and provide them with the opportunity of securing another booking. My husband rang at his earliest opportunity which was about 9.30 am. We were aware that the restaurant does not open until 12 but we wanted to reach them as quickly as possible. The answering machine came on so my husband kept trying until he eventually got hold of someone. Once my father’s condition stabilised, I also emailed the restaurant to extend our sincere apology and to explain the situation. During the telephone conversation I am speechless not about the non-refundable deposit) but about how the restaurant responded. Even if the manager was not prepared to change our booking to another day, could she not have been more kind with her response? At least 'a sorry to hear about your father, but unfortunately... ' The whole telephone manner was rude, abrupt, and uncaring. I understand that business is business but please have a heart as well. This is why I am writing this review. We were not being rude or abrupt. This was about a family emergency and we were letting you know whilst in the midst of it all. This was a booking for two people, not a party of 10. Does the restaurant not operate a waiting list? Did they make every effort to find customers to replace our booking? Times are tough for many of us right now and a little bit of human kindness goes a long way whilst citing your well publicised terms and conditions."
