"What a lovely pub with delicious home cooked food, we dropped in here for lunch and were not disappointed, great friendly staff and excellent food, we were told about this by a friend and can highly recommend this place if you are in the area. We visited mid week and the weather wasn't the best and I can imagine that it will be really busy when the weather improves and you can have the benefit of eating al fresco with stunning views over the river that is literally a stones throw away. Even saying that it was still well attended in overcast showery conditions a testament to the quality of the food and drink on offer, the service was very good and we only waited a few minutes for the food to arrive, I certainly enjoy my food and I had the Beef and ale pie while my wife had the lasagne both highly recommended, there is a good selection of dishes to choose from and we will certainly be returning in the future."

Visited here as we were staying in the area. Drinks were reasonably priced and we had a lovely meal. All the staff were lovely and very helpful.

The steak and stout pie at this restaurant was amazing! The beer garden has the best views over the river, and the staff is so friendly. What a hidden gem! View menu

This pub is comparable to a Michelin-starred restaurant. The food was absolutely fantastic! They even allow dogs inside. We're definitely going back again this week!

Great food, generous portions. I have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. All the staff are very nice. Very dog friendly too which is a plus. They also offer a specials board too for meals and desserts.

Met with rude member of staff and I won't be going again. Went in with my disabled wife for a bite to eat. Looked around for a table which we found No reserved sign on table) just got ready to order when a member of staff told us it's a reserved table in a abrupt manner. We felt very embarrassed as other people looked on and spoilt our day. View menu

The pub food at this restaurant is fantastic, with generous portions and a good selection of drinks. The hospitality is excellent and the homemade lasagne is exceptional. The atmosphere is a nice blend of locals and tourist travelers, and the restaurant is very dog-friendly. I will definitely be making this my go-to lunch spot for future holidays in North Wales. Thank you for a great experience.

This is a lovely little pub in a beautiful location. It’s also very dog friendly which is important for us, and the staff are great. This was our third visit and we will certainly be back when in the area. I ordered the curry special which was Β£15 for a Madras and pint. The Madras lacked a little in heat, not a complaint, just a personal thing, but it was very tasty and plentiful. I didn’t check my bill until I got home, and found that I had been charged the Β£15 for a curry and a pint, plus another Β£4.50 for the pint . They were very busy though and it was an easy mistake to make, so no worries. We will definitely be back because it’s a great place for a meal.

"Went for afternoon tea with my wife, using an 'experience ' voucher from a well known site, costing Β£35.99 absolute disaster! The description said 'sit down in the sophisticated dining room and tuck into a section of finger sandwiches, tantalising cakes, pastries, macarons and scones with clotted cream and jam. You won 't want this afternoon to end! ' Trust me, we could not get out of their quick enough and go and find somewhere to get something to eat. The sophisticated dining room was a large, cold room with only a couple of other diners, sticky wooden tables, with no table cloths, just a flimsy paper napkin and a knife and fork. We ordered a coffee and a tea, which came in the smallest teapot, I have ever seen. Later in the meal, when we asked for another drink, we were told that was extra and were charged another Β£5.70. The food was nothing like as described or pictured on the website. A sad looking selection of sandwiches four quarters each of thin sliced bread one containing a very small piece of processed ham, a second mashed up egg, third was some sort of fish, not sure if it was salmon or tuna; and finally some sort of green leaf with something wet on top it looked like the sandwich had been made days earlier and then sat upon! No pastries or macarons but the two scones with clotted cream and two little pots of jam were OK, however the remaining small cakes were dreadful, none of them were fresh there were two eclairs that were inedible, either the cream or chocolate was off and they were very dry; two little red velvet cakes, which again were dry and horrible; and finally two small pieces of carrot cake that were the least objectionable but again very dry. When we told the waitress the eclairs, she said she would tell the chef but no offer of an alternative. True, it was an unforgettable experience, but not in the way we had expected! We have had afternoon teas in top hotels, pubs, cafes and well known garden centres and nothing came close to being as bad as this meal. Needless to say we will never return and would strongly advise caution if anyone is thinking of going here."
