"I was surprised to see Kaye W 's review. I am a regular customer at the Horseshoes. I happened to be there at the time. The party in question milled around and around. Having put in an order for food, they were asked to anchor themselves to a table. The food came out and the customers weren 't at the said table. So, yes, some inconvenience to the staff was involved in that they had to marry up the food to the customers. It transpired they 'd seated themselves in the 'dog friendly ' area. Clearly children are welcome as their child was there."

Travelled past this pub for the best part of 50 years but never stopped, what a mistake. I can say the food was excellent and the staff a credit to the management. Thanks for a great experience

Called today as passing on the way home, was very quiet but we were late when passing. Had a light lunch which was just perfect, served with a smile and very tasty, lovely pub and certainly worth stopping for lunch or evening meal. Large carpark...

Not very welcoming, we were ‘pointed’ to our table. Service wasn’t great as had to wait for drinks order and ask to order our food. Food wasn’t great, ‘homemade specials’ fish cakes were not homemade, more like straight out of the freezer. I had a... View menu

We rarely, if ever go back to a place twice we like to explore. We made an exception for this place. It is as close to a perfect overnight stopover as you can get. We found all the staff fabulous hard to pick them out but Claire, Karen, Tom and Darren sorry to those we missed out : Unusually for me I went for the burger go for it. If you can manage it without wearing half of it you're doing well. View menu

Went for a late Sunday roast only to find they were sold out. Unhappy staff ! Meals from the menu were disappointing and took a long time to arrive. The rice in the Tikka Masala was watery. The steak and ale pie arrived with a coating of gravy, even though the gravy was in a separate pourer. This was to disguise the fact it was burnt. The pie should be relabelled as Ale pie,as there was very little steak visible in the pie. Needless to say we won't be back!

We went for Sunday Lunch on 18th. The Car Park was busy so we had to park in the over flow car park. We had booked for a family of 10. The inside and outside area was busy. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming even though we could see that they were under pressure. We all had the roast dinners and everything was cooked to perfection. We regularly come here and always tell friends and family to visit. Make sure you pick up the meal vouchers at the end of your visit. We will definitely be returning soon.
