"Hubby and i went about 6 weeks ago for lunch, I had the fish finger sandwich which i can thoroughly reccomend, but wasnt impressed with the sliced brown bread, it made it look a bit basic. Hubby being a burger lover had the handmade burger with cheese, both meals were served with gorgeous handcut chips. We wanted to have our tea out tonight, tried to book at the sister place, The Wagon, but they were full, and were advised to call here. It was quite empty when we arrived, so we placed our order quite quickly. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Hubby again ordered the burger, i went for the steak and ale pie, again served with the handcut chips. We didnt have to wait too long (thankfully due to an irritatingly loud child on the next table, why do some adults allow a child to hold the conversation and be so vocal). I was a bit disappointed with the pie, the sides were overcooked and there wasnt much gravy in the pie dish, however a small jug of gravy was swerved on the side. mine came with broccoli, peas and carrots, perfectly cooked. All in all very good value for money and we will be back again soon, Not for the pie though."

Brilliant food and drink, good entertainment and service with a smile. What more do you need. Ample parking for those not drinking.

We used to frequent this pub years ago when we lived in the north, but it looks a bit run-down now. The drinks and coffee were still good, though. The wooden tables outside looked like they were about to fall apart.

A friend and I had a lovely lunch at this restaurant. It was our first time there, but we will definitely be going back. The atmosphere was relaxed and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a great pub experience.

Went for a sunday lunch and after sitting and ordering waited for 25 minutes for food to arrive wish it hadnt beef was all fat grissly , gravy was more like a cup of bovril from screwfix , veg was frozen and pretty sure the meat frozen , cant understand why they ask you how you want your beef , rare or pressed ?? Surely its from a slow roasted joint which is already cooked ?? , service from the waitresses was pleasant but wont be going back . Its a shame , so much potential !

My wife and I decided to give this restaurant a try after hearing positive reviews. Upon arrival, we found the place empty but nicely decorated with a good ambiance. We both opted for the lighter lunch option and were happy with our choices of minute steak with chunky chips. The chips were plentiful and delicious, and the steak was cooked perfectly, served with a light salad and garlic sauce. The dessert was also enjoyable with generous portions. We would recommend trying this place and plan to return for a larger meal in the future.

Visited here today for lunch with my mum. Was told by family to try it out. Ample parking round back of pub with a disabled space that needs repainted as i missed it which meant mam had to walk further than needed. Good disabled access inside with ramp for wheelchairs ect. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Had 2 meals off the light bites. Wasn't disappointed it looked nice and was a good sized meal and reasonably price. Large selection of food available on menu. Loved the decor and style of the pub really cozy. Defo one we will visit again.

Booked a table for 6 for a Saturday father' s day. A lovely table had been reserved for us which we were shown to by a member of staff whom offered us the warmest of welcomes. Our party included my in-laws in their eighties, 2 teenage sons 18 and 15, husband and I and all six of us would happily revisit. The staff where very cheerful, polite and well mannered. The menu had a varied choice. We ordered a steak, burger, pasta, steak and ale pie, and scampi. We can now recommend them all, especially the chips which were sensational. All our meals were well cooked, well presented and above all extremely tasty. We finished off with chocolate fudge cake ice cream and apple pie with custard, again v...

Visited with family on saturday night, when we arrive the restaurant was empty. We had booked but there was confusion over the sirname which isnt a difficult one to pronounce. We were just told the table number and not shown to table. I guess by this time it was 'ordered at the bar 'type of restaurant, which is fine, there were a good number of staff and they all seemed friendly if not slightly under trained. The menu was very varied and seasonal and i could have chosen a number of mains but went with the rainbow trout which i was informed was caught that day. The food arrived and was very well presented, hot and very tasty. One of my fellow diners said only complaint was there were to many c...
