"Chelsea Flower Show week and we are staying just around the corner and amongst us are serious meat eaters and a gluten avoider, so Cast Iron was a selected favourite. Two of us arrive to do a recce and arrive at 8:55pm to a lovely ambiance with a relaxed atmosphere and casual dining feel, staff were friendly faced and smiley giving us a very warm welcome. We were presented with a beautiful and thoughtful menu, appealing to a variety of dietary requirements and a wide range to please everyone within an affordable price range. The wine list was varied with excellence and clearly a lot of thought had gone into selecting wines to accompany the variety of dishes available on the menu with recommendations which were a delightful extra touch. Sadly, it kind of stopped there with an abrupt halt! It took us over 10 minutes to be offered drinks, so much so we had to ask twice! We eventually ordered and to start we had Brisket in a Yorkshire and a small Caesar Salad, followed by 2 Rumps, our drinks eventually arrived and we awaited our scrummy starters… 15 minutes pass and then another 15 minutes encouraging us to enquire about the delay, and we are assured they are on the way! We wait another long 15 minutes and again query to the whereabouts of our simple starters, by this point it’s obviously the staff are feeling awkward about the slow service and seemingly ‘refuse’ to return to our table, resulting in us being seen to by a selection of staff members. We are eventually presented with an excuse that there was some confusion with our order and instead of starters followed by mains, the order has gone through as ‘everything to be sent out together’ arrangement, however, to be quite frank I wouldn’t expect to wait that long for the entire order either!! After an hour our starters have finally arrived, the brisket Yorkshire full of scrumptious slow cooked beef with the Caesar, whilst being tasty, consisting almost entirely of iceberg stalk disappointingly. Within moments of ‘finishing’ our plates are cleared and almost immediately our steaks arrive surprisingly, beautifully cooked and presented. We had 20% taken off our bill which we were grateful for but overall a very slow service for a very quiet restaurant, the staff, whilst initially being very delightful, avoided us thereafter and one starter was below average. We would have visited 2, 3 maybe 4 times during the week but obviously didn’t return."

Very god food and a nice atmosphere. The service was a bit slow, but good and considerate when needed. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a good steak.

A great place to be. Steak was cooked to perfection and the peppercorn sauce was incredible. Chefs are professional and high skilled. Service was top class and the cocktails were superb! Will return soon. Highly recommended!

The service was poor. Waited for a menu for 5 minutes, starter and main course served at the same time. I was told that they serve starters and main courses at the same time unless requested otherwise. Very odd as burger was cold by the time I finished my starter. On the plus side, the waiters were pleasant and the food was very good.

My husband had the fish and chips, and I had the chicken curry with naan. We both found our dishes to be just alright. The service was incredibly slow, so I would not recommend this place if you are in a rush. However, it was convenient for us as we were very tired after walking 15 miles. My friends and I visited this restaurant for a Sunday brunch and it was amazing. Despite being very busy, our waiter, Delver, was extremely polite and took the time to explain the brunch menu to us in detail. Chef Sanjay even came to our table to recommend a few dishes, including the delicious eggs royale and seafood linguine. The service was excellent and we definitely plan on visiting again.

The service at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. We waited over an hour for our food, only to receive a severely overcooked steak and greasy, mediocre burgers. The dishes were bland and underseasoned. The staff seemed untrained and clueless, and checking out was a disaster. The meal was prepaid for, but paying the bill was disorganized and unprofessional. This was the worst dining experience I have ever had. It was truly shameful.

My husband and I had lunch at this lovely restaurant with a dear friend who works at the hotel. Our server, Goce, was wonderful. He was very attentive without being intrusive, and made sure everything went very smoothly. The food was lovely, we had the Crispy Squid and Chorizo, which was perfectly prepared, and a loaded Yorkshire Pudding that was very tasty. Stayed at the Kensington recently and used Cast Iron twice in the evening for drinks and in the morning for breakfast. Drinks: First observation was of the vastly reduced cocktail menu compared to our last visit in 2019 only 3 cocktails on the list now. Service wasn't the quickest and drinks were just average I expected more for the prices charged. Breakfast: Everything was great. The service team were warm and friendly, all food items were fresh, hot food was actually hot.

The Executive Lounge closed for renovations at the start of our most recent stay so we were allowed to take breakfast and evening offerings in the restaurant. At times we were asked to sit in a particular section of the restaurant. I guess this was so that wait staff could easily see who was ordering off the menu and who was using the restaurant as the Executive Lounge. Breakfast had a wide array of offerings, both hot and cold, as well as cooked to order eggs/omelets. Evening service had a variety offerings, to include hot and cold.
