"The service and welcome was rushed, unhelpful and unfriendly and we were the only two waiting. I have a lot of time for anyone in a service role and I'm not a tough customer, but I won't be going back again. I love my coffee so I at least expect to have a very brief conversation about what is on offer but the girl just pointed me to the menu. The coffee wasn't great and the brownie, worse. I noticed a GF label after buying, if this was gluten free perhaps you should mention it, I didn't ask for a gluten free brownie. If the service had been in any way friendly or helpful I could have overlooked this, but the whole experience truly left a bad taste in my mouth."

This place is fantastic! The atmosphere is great, and the coffee and desserts are amazing. I was really excited to walk into that small coffeehouse!

Harry potter themed cafe. Lots of varied hot and cold drinks such as milkshakes and coffees. They had some nice seasonal options such as pumpkin spice and creme brulee. A bit overpriced for what it is, but still a cute spot for coffee. View menu

I went for lunch after reading positive reviews online. The restaurant looked cute, but I was left dissatisfied. They had limited food options, only offering a few pastries. I ordered two pastries but received the wrong order. The hot chocolate I ordered tasted more like warm milk.

this coffee shop is located at the bottom of the northampton railway station (aka castle station.) it was previously located in the st giles street. at the time of my visit, it had only just opened in its new situation, so they expect the things to be better. the coffee is fantastic, and I suspect that all other drinks are also. I have visited this restaurant multiple times and the staff have always been lovely. There is a wide variety of milkshakes available for lovers of the drink. The cakes are truly impressive. I would recommend trying the creme brule tea. While there could be a few more lunch options, it is a great place to bring the kids and enjoy the fun artifacts while sipping on a brew or hot chocolate.

A cute little place in desperate need of more customers! It has a great fantasy/Harry Potter theme for fans of the series. Great to see a selection of vegan food available. We had a pistachio, chive, and rosewater cake and a vegan 'sausage ' roll. Would love to see more of these! Soya milk was available for coffees which was good to see as well. Not sure if extra was charged hopefully not.

"I had the pleasure of visiting La Terraza Tapas Bar in Upton with my kids, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was incredibly cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a family outing. The friendly staff added to the welcoming atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the tapas selection. The steak with chimichurri sauce was a burst of flavors that left us craving for more, and the Tempura prawns were simply delectable. It's clear that the chefs here take pride in their creations, as every dish we tried was a delightful journey for the taste buds. As a first-time visitor, I was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience, and I can confidently say it won't be our last visit. While the prices leaned slightly towards the expensive side, the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance more than made up for it. La Terraza Tapas Bar strikes the perfect balance between a gourmet dining experience and a comfortable family outing. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant, which is always an important factor for me when choosing a place to dine. All in all, La Terraza Tapas Bar offers a fantastic option for a memorable lunch with family or friends. If you're looking for a place that combines delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and a touch of elegance, this is definitely a spot worth considering. AKASAKA Japanese

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
