"The Manor's atmosphere last Sunday was refreshingly lively and bright. The white-washed walls, long zinc bar, wooden floors, and beautiful wildflowers on each table created a charming setting. The L-shaped dining room was filled with dishes that looked like they belonged in a magazine, perfectly presented and stylish. The sun was shining, so we enjoyed a glass of rosé, a Coteaux D'Aix-en-Provence 2013, which was pale, dry, and delicious. The Manor's innovative menu features modern dishes created using cutting-edge cooking techniques such as smoking, nitro freezing, charring, fermenting, and slow roasting. Reading the menu, one might feel as though they were in a..."

For Clapham, The Manor is quite special with it's high end modern British cuisine.

My friend and I came here for dinner after hearing great things about it and its sister restaurant, The Dairy.

I'm not going to lie, we came for the ice cream. I was meeting with bloggers and we wanted to check out a relatively new(ish) spot that hadn't been tried

I will begin at the end of this meal. when we were finished, the waiter brought over the most delicious mandelkuchen. the only problem with them was that they were too small. the aal dish was the only outstanding part of the meal

...The Manor is a new modern bistro from the team behind the Dairy. My favourite dining partner and I visited The Dairy back in November of last year, having never made the effort to review the wonderful meal we had, there was no excuse for me not to share my experiences this time around.

This is Robin Gill’s second restaurant in Clapham (he also owns The Dairy and with the recent announcement that he’s opening another one, 254 Paradise in Bethnal Green (on the same stretch as Mission along with a deli next door to the Dairy, it’s set to be quite a year for him. I love the Dairy, but whereas that has a dark, romantic, perfect-for-dinner vibe, the Manor is quite the opposite. Bright and airy would be an understatement.

The food at this restaurant is fantastic - not only interesting, but also incredibly delicious. The crab and the mussels were particularly outstanding, served alongside a delectable sauce. The service was friendly and attentive, and the dining room was beautifully designed to create a cozy yet casual atmosphere. Despite being located in Clapham, it is definitely worth the journey. Once you're there, you'll forget you were ever anywhere else.

I was surprised to find this place had variable reviews. We went on a weekday evening and had a great time. Atmosphere wasnt too stuffy and the food was pretty insanely brilliant actually. We loved the tapas sharing style of the menu and the waitress helped us order some stuff we wouldnt have otherwise (which ended up being our top 3 dishes). It probably isnt to everyone's tastes but we didnt have a bad dish and some of them were really quite amazing (the smoked cod and chicken skins were our favs). Its not cheap but for a splash out its worth it.

One of the most popular but also frustrating food trends in recent years has been the small plates revolution. The idea of being able to sample a variety of flavors and combinations is wonderful when done well. I have had some incredible small plate meals at places like Stones Throw in San Francisco. However, I have been less impressed with the small plate scene in London. While there are exceptions, such as Antidote, I have found that portions are small and prices are high, leading to the possibility of racking up a hefty bill for a mediocre meal.
