"I booked a table mid week for 3 last minute. I requested one suitable for a disabled relative and they happily accommodated us. My Aunty struggles to walk and has use of a stick/walker. The entry ramp is a little steep for a disabled guest but there is no steps to enter. We had to be dropped off on double yellows as it’s a main road and she struggles to walk the distance away we had to park. This did not seem to be a problem. The food we ate was delicious. We had a large cheese and meat platter and a blue cheese platter. We had a selection of the local cheeses as my aunt was over from New Zealand. They also have my favourite orange Whitley Neill Gin. It was lovely for a different kind lunch. Great selection of cheeses and very enjoyable. Nice atmosphere for having a lunch and a chat. However, i also then visited on an weekend evening. On this occasion I found it a bit over crowded and less enjoyable due to a lack of seats. It was too busy and noisy for such a small venue. The toilets are also unisex and only 2 cubical. Less of a problem in the day. But very unpleasant in the evening. They stank and you could smell it every time the door was left open. I’m not a fan of unisex toilets and when the venue is as busy as it was it ended up with queues and a man hounding us in the toilets. I found the 2 experience very different. I would 100% recommend the venue for lunch. We also took home 2 blocks of cheese which were really tasty and authentic. The cheese wasn’t cheap but that’s what you would expect for the level of quality. I’m awarding 4 as the lunch visit alone would have been a 5 but it was let down by the overcrowded unpleasant evening. I would give the evening a second chance and hopefully find it to be better as the drinks, food and service were great on both occasions."
