The Old Customs House

This restaurant is charming, cozy, and inviting. We stopped in for a few drinks and received a warm welcome. The establishment has multiple seating areas with a variety of tables and chairs. Definitely worth a visit.

I ordered the roast and was disappointed. The meat was drowning in gravy, the vegetables were undercooked, some menu items were unavailable, and the chicken portion was small and oddly pale. £20 for a roast is quite pricey and definitely not worth it. The photo on the listing does not accurately reflect what was served.

Put us in a very hot South-facing room in stifling,exceptional heat. Had to open windows ourselves.Tables very sticky, music loud which interfered with conversation,food very average, considering the cost. Disinterested service.Perceived a lack of staff , possibly not expecting so many customers in good weather.Not returning.

Went with some friends for dinner. Well organised but expensive noisy with loud music in the bar. Menu was limited. Two of us had the Asian Broth one sent it back. I persevered but basically tastless veg in very dilute soy sauce with chilli to flavour it. No prob with an immediate refund for the return, hence 3*. On the positive side, the rest of the food was ok although nothing special.

We always enjoy the old customs house for a drink and never had diner before. So we tried it and it was a one off experience. The location is nice, but one of the (expensive) steaks was burnt. The knife wasn’t sharp enough to cut through the food. An Irish coffee was made from a latte. So if you want to eat a burger or a schnitzel, this place is okay, if you just want to enjoy a beer this place is great. Otherwise, better stay away.

Gunwharf Quays offers a variety of dining options, but this traditional pub stood out. I hadn't been here in a while, but I was glad I stopped by for lunch. The food selection was great and the service was excellent. I opted for a club sandwich and triple cooked chips, both of which were delicious. Ordering was easy through the website, and despite a suggested 35-minute wait due to busyness, my drinks arrived quickly and my food was served in about 15 minutes. Overall, a perfect experience.

The food was brilliant the service dreadful. Having run pubs for 15 years I was extremely disappointed with the lack of service from a fullers pub. I think it was possible the worst I have ever had sat at the table handed menus without any sort of conversation followed by having to go to the bar to order drinks and finally getting to order food 20 minutes later food arrived and wasn't cleared for another 20 minutes after finishing then another 30 minute wait before we got up to leave and were finally offered the bill

We visited for dinner and were very dissapointed. Two of us ordered the king prawns with linquini. I don't believe their chefs know what prawns are, because what we were served were definitely NOT king prawns they were medium size shrimp. Shrimp and prawns are not the same species. These shrimp were also overcooked and rubbery, I suspect they came in frozen. The pasts was flavorless and the serving size so small it was definitely not worth the 19.50 price tag. The service was non existent. We would not recommend this restaurant.

Firstly we sat down outside as it was a glorious day to have a drink each and liked the look of it, so we decided to come back later to eat. My wife ordered the sausage and mash with a side order of mixed veg, I ordered the burger. When it was brought to the table my wife was really pleased with hers and had three lovely sausages, my wife asked for an extra jug of gravy to which the waitress was more than happy to get. Really rich gravy. My wife would definitely have this again. My burger was very meaty and tasty, the chips were nice. Overall an excellent meal and will not hesitate to come back here to eat again.
