"We popped in to the pub for a beer and were very impressed with the friendliness and the beer was good so we booked Sunday lunch for 4. The food arrived on cold plates. The vegetables were cold, watery and half cooked and consisted of kale, green beans, brocolli and a scattering of carrots, very good roast potatoes, a Yorkshire, a slice of cold tough roast beef and a small slice of roast pork. The quantities on the plates were not the same. The whole experience was disappointing and the quality of the food was greatly lacking and the quantity did not satisfy even the smallest appetite. The Sunday roast lunch was very disappointing for us."

Visited for Sunday lunch 6 of us plus our dog. Lovely home cooked food, meat and vegetarian roasts absolutely delicious and roast potatoes to die for. Desserts also a must if you visit great portion sizes. A warm welcome and our doggy even got treated to some biscuits. Will definitely visit again.

Really lovely village pub, warm welcome from the landlord, really friendly staff and an amazing Sunday roast. The pub is set in a peaceful village opposite a beautiful church. Google directed us here on our drive home from Devon and I'm glad it did. If I lived locally I would be back every Sunday! View menu

Got ripped off. Food very nice, but small portions. Ordered extra chips to share as soon as food arrived but no apology from landlord. Then got charged £6 more than expected... pretty sure it was for mayo and tartar sauce! Had a super meal there last year but now won't bother again. Hotel highlights: Quiet

A hidden gem. Accommodation was well equipped and provided everything required for a comfortable stay. Bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to get up. WiFi was consistent enabling me to work during the evening. Breakfast included and plentiful and bar menu was excellent and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and helpful. A will use again when visiting the area.

"I got a take away from here last year and whilst it wasn’t amazing, it was ok so ordered here again as reviews are better than the other chineses. Well the quality was not great at all. I’ll go dish by dish. Half duck was super fatty and on the undercooked side, no crispy skin at all. The cucumber and spring onion was a tiny tub, the same you get with the 1/4 duck. The hoisin sauce and pancakes were decent. I had ordered extra pancakes as usually we need it but here, the meet was so bad that we only managed to finish one pack of six pancakes. King prawn chow mein, one of the better dishes, good flavours, loads of huge king prawns so good value. Stir fried vegetables avoid! No flavour, soggy and mostly bean sprouts. Young chow fried rice waste of money. It doesn’t have the young chow flavour at all. Just regular egg fried rice with dry meat and shrimp. Egg fried rice no actual pieces of egg and doesn’t have that wok flavour but it’s edible Crab meat sweetcorn soup real crabmeat but not much of the meat. The soup flavour was quite nice but way too gloopy for my liking. Hot sour soup not very spicy, flavour ok, shrimps were not fresh. Sweet sour chicken balls good, batter not too heavy. Unusual sauce, I liked it but not all my kids did. Chicken ginger spring onion one of the better dishes, gloopy again but flavour was decent. Clean chicken meat pieces. King prawn in garlic source not nice, looked like porridge. Unbelievably gloopy, with lots of mushrooms. The prawns were large but I didn’t like the gloopy source. King prawn Szechuan prawns were battered, source quite sweet and not very spicy, tasted similar to the sweet and sour sauce. Singapore rice noodle ok, quite dry and flavour not special. Edible I won’t be going back."
