The One - Menu

Have been here a few times and it never disappoints. The menu is extensive and the portions generous and the prices are very reasonable. All in all an excellent Chinese restaurant. On a slight negative note, the building itself is a bit tired and the toilets in particular could do with a bit of attention.

After reading reviews and traveling from the Midlands, we decided to try out this restaurant. They offer a wide variety of dishes, but unfortunately, the food was below average and lacking in flavor. I would recommend sticking to basic Chinese dishes if you decide to dine here. Overall, we were very disappointed and would not return, especially when looking for a enjoyable dining experience.

The service here is absolutely abysmal, unless you are a friend relative of the owner. The service is consistently terrible ... Waiting time approx 2 hours and then served with a smile if you complain, and limited English interaction. Otherwise food is thrown on the table with a snarl by the female server. Frustratingly bad. One of our regular return visits as the food is always excellent, if anything over generous portion size. Mixed choice of different dishes to our usual, including the fillet chilli beef which was lovely and tender opposite of an earlier report , all meeting their usual high standards. Only drawback was at a nearby table where an obnoxious couple were determined to create problems with the meal just to avoid paying their bill. Sad.

I visited the 1bar for my birthday insat for 39mins waiting for a staff member to serve me and my friends a drink whilst waiting we saw at least 2 rats running in the garden the owner claimed they were from kebab House on corner safe to say we didn't stay long after that bar was shut on 1 side so no pool table and very short staffed would not recommend going unless you fancey rat infested Chinese also fake widow spiders in toilets

We had arranged a couple of nights away in Oxford, had a meal already booked at the Porterhouse Bar and Grill, where we were staying and hadn’t booked anything for the second night, we fancied a Chinese and weren’t disappointed, the service was great, the food even better and the cost was very reasonable, if we lived locally we’d definitely be going back. Never seen such an extensive drinks menu, 35 pages in total, definitely recommend. View menu

Order a takeaway expecting something of high standard, very far from it. Terrible quality ordered the beer fillet chilli beef well I don’t think my cat would of eaten what I got. Absolutely terrible. I contacted the manager and he told me he didn’t have time and that he would meet me at my house which of course is intimidating in itself to discuss the matter. Don’t order from this restaurant absolutely terrible food in the photo is me trying to send it back

Just down the road, to the right of the station, under the railway bridge, you’d never suspect such a find! Described as Asian Fusion cuisine, we experienced a spectacular banquet of Chinese food, and a selection of dim sum between us. Three of us had the three course lunch which was fantastic, mouth watering and mammoth, enough to take some home. Totally delicious! Two had soup, also the crispy duck, and their chosen dim sum; they were equally impressed by their choices. We are all foodies, we eat a lot of Chinese food, this place blew us away! A Chinese family came for lunch too, always a great sign of quality. I wish I lived in Oxford!

The One bar has always been known for its traditional and innovative Asian-inspired cuisine, bringing together a variety of flavors in a unique dining experience. However, our recent visit did not live up to expectations. Despite being a pricier establishment, the service was lacking, with a server who seemed disinterested and rushed. The food, while some dishes like the crispy duck stood out, was overall disappointing. The dumplings lacked flavor, the chicken was undercooked, and the staff did not seem to address our concerns. Overall, it was a disappointing evening, falling below the usual standard of The One bar. Changes need to be made to improve the dining experience. View menu
