"This was our visit passing through Leith for many years, decided to stop at the Persevere for lunch as it was a regular haunt of ours many years ago when we lived in Leith. We were not disappointed with our choice. Warmly welcomed by young lady behind the bar, taken to our table, menus given out and drinks order taken. Lunch menu had plenty choice and two courses for £8.50 was excellent value for money. All food was well presented and very tasty. All staff friendly and attentive. Great choice for lunch, would recommend."

This is a very spacious and comfortable bar. Staff were all friendly and attentive while doing an excellent job in relation to current restrictions. We felt very safe in here. There was a good range of beers and the food was very enjoyable.

From the cabbage n ribs, it was good somewhat pretentious in delivery and clientele. I got asked why I was there, the toilets were away down but clean. Overall a great pint and staff were good apart from nosey boss. Yeah top drawer, yeah pub if the year from me View menu

My friend and I went to this restaurant for a late lunch. We ordered pancakes with goulash and pickles, which were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this main course, as it reminded me of the taste of Poland. The portions were huge, but we managed to finish them all. Overall, it was a scrumptious meal.

We had our dinner plans cancelled, so we decided to try this restaurant instead. The food was absolutely fantastic with generous portion sizes. Every dish we tried surpassed our expectations, and the goulash was especially delicious. Having lived in Edinburgh for 5 years and tried many restaurants, this one definitely ranks in the top 5 for me. Be sure to try the pierogi fried!

A nostalgic visit for me and brought my wife and a few pals. Used to come here regularly in my student days and popped in as we were eating in Leith. Cracking pub. Beautiful decor. Warm welcome. Friendly and helpful service and a good pint of beer at proper prices. I was welling up. Haven't been in since the 1980's but will bring my kids here to show them the sort of brilliant place their old Dad used to frequent. View menu

We booked for an early lunch ,it was our first visit . The place is absolutely stunning ,great atmosphere . There are large tiled scenes with Mary Queen of Scots landing at Leith Harbour and George the 4th landing at Leith . Fascinating ! Service was friendly and helpful and we did not have to wait long for the food to arrive on the table . Very romantic place for taking your loved one . Visitors will not forget this bar in a hurry it is amazing

While strolling back from Seafield, we stumbled upon this bar and decided to give it a try. We thought it would be on par with those found in the city center. The portion sizes were generous, but there is also the option to choose a smaller menu. The food was delicious - I had the biggest piece of haddock ever, and the steak pie was also enjoyable. The staff was friendly, the toilets were clean, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the prices were reasonable for the area. I would definitely come back again.
