"Probably the quirkiest place in the capital for breakfast. Small, compact but very comfortable. Everything cooked fresh to order by the same guy who waits on the tables. In fact he does everything. Gid only knows how he has the time to do it all. We ate on a Sunday morning so it was pretty full inside but we didnt mind the wait. I opted for the full Scottish breakfast which was great value. 10 items for under a tenner. My wife opted for porridge with honey and a custom breakfast which allows you to choose 4 breakfast items from the menu, served with toast. The black coffee was served in a mug which was a nice touch. Can't beat a mug of coffee on a Sunday morning. Total bill for 2 breakfasts and 4 coffees came in at under £30. As a footnote, we enjoyed it so much, we went back the next morning."

Came for food, late morning before leaving Edinburgh. Wish we had tried this cafe earlier in our stay as it was lovely food and excellent service. Lovely little place to go and would definitely recommend.

My family and I went to this restaurant for breakfast. The food was incredibly tasty and even though there was only one staff member working, the service was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place. View menu

My friend and I visited this cafe one Saturday morning for a classic Scottish breakfast with fairly heavy heads from night before. Pleasantly surprised the food was delicious and the atmosphere very relaxed. Would visit again when next in Edinburgh. Also if you like pictures of owls you'll be particularly pleased. View menu

This charming café has friendly and accommodating staff, with a fantastic range of food choices. It was an ideal spot to catch up with friends from Rome and the Netherlands. Our group enjoyed a diverse selection from the menu, including soup, Scottish breakfast, scrambled eggs with salmon, smoothies, waffles, carrot cake, and tea – all of which were delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with comfy owl cushions scattered around. While you might easily walk past it, it is definitely worth seeking out and stopping by. The café extends further back than expected, providing plenty of seating space.
