"We stayed as part of a hotel block for a wedding. Price was reasonable but if you don’t do your due diligence, be noted it’s about a 45$ ride to Edinburgh if you want to visit each way. Also all shopping and restaurants in the area close by 8 9pm. The hotel greeted us warmly but overall we felt it was average in service and cleanliness. Trashcan was still full in our bathroom on check in. Reservations for our taxis departure shuttle were lost so we had to follow up on all trips to ensure our transportation was set. The rooms are dark and with poor lighting if you are a makeup getting ready girlie. I struggled with the lighting to get ready for the wedding. Also it’s warm. Air only circulates when the key is in a holder so the room never really cooled and we had to pop windows open. Did it work for this trip? Sure. Would I go back? Likely not"

"We visited this restaurant on a rainy Monday afternoon and found it to be busy with a small band playing. The service was quick and the staff were friendly and eager to chat, making us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was great overall. The owner even brought out complimentary food plates for everyone. It just goes to show that with a little effort, a pub can be successful even on a dreary November day. The band played music from the Beatles era and did a fantastic job. Kudos to the owner for creating such a welcoming and enjoyable experience. The average price per person was between £10-20."

"Reached North Queensferry after crossing the Red Bridge' from South Queensferry. As we came down the hill from the station, the lady was opening up Rankin's at 10 a.m. Nice sunny morning so we chose to sit outside for a quick spot of refreshment, train...watching at the same time. Used the toilet before leaving. Establishment was very clean. It should be noted that there are no public toilets in North Queensferry. The Ferrybridge Hotel where we had downloaded a light lunch' menu appeared to be shut down. Spent the next couple of hours taking leisurely back over Forth Road Bridge to our hotel we were staying in."

"good location, nice staff and outsight were excellent. for the price class should be the first set, but not as expected we are stuck with the usual cotenders like fish and chips, sensen and sampi. the mustels were excellent, but the fresh fish and chips, and fresh scampi is where the restaurant is a great fence of the scampi is frozen and grown up in restaurant trading that they know machine covered scampi made every day, the scampi was perfectly round and had a thick layer of baked coating that was perfect even. freshly made scampi is never so perfect and for seven small pieces, a small basket of chips and a dry salad without dressing is certainly not worth. the fish was another story, I think it is fresh, but comes with a super thick layer of beerbatter that looks the fish big, but absorbs a lot of oil when fried and gives a very oily meal. it comes with a small basket of French pommes and some muddy baptisms for three small softdrinks, main courses as described and a child eaten comes the total number more than that would have been no problem if the quality of the food were good. we could have complained about our meal at the staff, but this was our first dinner in almost a year, as this is going to be locked up and should not come to it. these courts are fundamental, and to scott’s price point they should have been great."

"We only discovered that this charming cafe offered gluten-free options on the final day of our holiday. If we had known earlier, we would have tried more of the delicious offerings available. However, we did enjoy a gluten-free cake, as they had a great selection of pre-packaged cakes. The menu also includes paninis and jacket potatoes, and the staff appeared to be knowledgeable about Coeliac disease, so I believe they would be able to accommodate dietary needs well. My partner, who does not have Coeliac disease, tried a scone and found it to be delicious. There were also plenty of other tempting cakes to choose from. The prices were reasonable compared to other cafes, despite a customer behind us complaining about the cost of a toastie. Overall, we had a pleasant experience at this cafe and would recommend it to others."
