"Found the management on shift pretty rude and incompetent. I was served a Baileys latte plonked on the bar just the glass no saucer, spoon etc which when you’re paying around £5 for a Coffee to have after dinner you expect atleast a little bit of effort. It took forever to get any service for a night that wasn’t that busy and she did not consider our presence then rudely said “I’ll be with you in a minute” in a brash tone. My friend when she ordered the food also witnessed her rudely speak to one of the staff about providing us with cutlery and refusing to do so herself though the food took a long time luckily it was adequate though we did have to ask for one of our meals that never came out and was questioned if we was sure we ordered it. I am fond of the pub and used to work here myself so I am very aware of the standards expected by the Customer and have now found it now met by this particular member of management every time I have visited."

Enjoyed a fabulous lunch at the red lion. I had a delicious parfait and then a steak sandwich. Great portion sizes, and a brilliant cocktail selection! Will be back soon

The place is great for dogs, my kids and I had a great lunch. Kiran was great with the kids she spared no expense in making sure we had everything we needed. Need more like her in other places.

The service was lovely and friendly and we couldn’t fault the food. We were a party of 27 and were catered for very well. We had our own area of the pub which made our party all the more private and enjoyable. View menu

Never before have I been to a restaurant where the service has been so bad that our first round of drinks have come up after we had all finished our main meals. Although we politely tried to hurry up our drinks, the only response was...

Do not come here if you’re looking to eat out with your family. Never in my life have we received such shocking service. Everyone and I mean everyone who ate this evening was up at the bar complaining over service. Many tables walking out mid... View menu

Went here for lunch and the service was absolutely fantastic. Manager in the glasses was brilliant she recommended their panzanella salad with garlic prawns and safe to say I will be coming back for it! My husband had the steak pie which is not flaky thank god!!! Amazing food and atmosphere!

The service was good overall, with a rating of about 8 out of 10. The food was delicious, but for a Sunday lunch, the portion size was extremely small. Only two small roast potatoes for adult men is disappointingly inadequate. At a price of over £20 per person, it was a shame that the portion sizes left everyone still hungry. Despite the nice food, the lack of satisfaction on such a special occasion was disappointing.

"A slightly bizarre experience we were welcomed warmly, taken to our table, and given a menu for pre dinner drinks. No food menus were brought. We ordered drinks, which arrived, but still no menus! So we asked for them. No wine list brought. So we asked for one. All rather odd. The starters were mixed a bland crab risotto, a rather vinegary tartare, an excellent parfait and a crispy egg which needed to be runnier, but was tasty, if too salty. The odd service continued: three of the four of us had finished do the waiter cleared our plates including the one of our friend who hadn’t finished, who was left holding a cracker in her hand! The mains were again mixed and generally over salty. The ravioli were excellent; the steak good but in a sauce which was heavy handed on the seasoning, the fish pleasant, again slightly salty and verging on the overcooked. We had chocolate soufflé for pudding generally well made and tasty, but again the service was odd an ice cream was pushed into it at the table by the waiter which caused a good amount of soufflé to fall inelegantly onto the serving plate; the cheese plate was an interesting but small selection of well kept cheese. Good petit fours (though we were surprised that one containing nuts was offered to us all despite one of us not eating nuts, which we had mentioned). So probably four stars over all, but only just. It’s good to see the restaurant open again but based on this experience, while it’s fine dining, it’s got some way to go to reach the standard of cooking I’m sure they’d like to aspire to."
