"We called in here for coffee, due to its position, offering amazing views. The first thing you notice is the friendly staff who seem to take a real pleasure in their work. We had freshly baked scones and coffee which were great. Not being from the area, we drove through this town in such a stunning coastal position, to see what appeared to be concrete power station cooling towers, which look so out of place. As we got nearer, we realised it was the Landmark Theatre, in which this cafe is situated. Landmark, more like blot on the landscape, but I am sure there were far more words in the press when it was originally built. It you think this building is unusual, drive to the harbour to see the 65' statue of a naked pregnant woman. They certainly have a a different view on what is artistic and attractive in this town. What they seem to overlook is that none of this is needed because it detracts from the spectacular natural rugged, rocky coast."

Poor quality, slow service and cold food. Maybe it was an off day but for what we paid it was shocking.

Lovely cafe with a perfect view. Friendly and helpful staff, coffee was nice and my pulled pork nachos were delicious. Will be back again soon

Long wait despite it being quiet. Breakfast was cold, and not particularly good, the toast so dry and hard it was inedible, latte needed copius amounts of sugar to make it drinkable. Maybe we were just unlucky but probably the worst cooked breakfast we have ever had.

I have scored The Rendevous 'Average ' only because it is a cafe providing an appropriately limited menu , is simply furnished etc. However, that is not a criticism it is a good honest cafe where food is freshly cooked and the service is welcoming, friendly and efficient. We enjoyed good quality scampi and chips looking at a beautiful sea view before an excellent filmed production of The Winter 's Tale. We shall be back!

We recently visited Ilfracombe, and found this welcoming cafe inside the local theatre. It is situated right by the sea and a park, ideal for walking th dogs. There is a small car park and about six disabled parking spaces nearby. After our walk we decided to look for a place to have a cup of tea and were pleasantly surprised that dogs were welcome.access was very good, with fully accessible toilets as well. Tourist info in the same building. We will definitely return next time we visit Ilfracombe.

I live in Ilfracombe and often pop to the Rendevous café. The food is yummy with lots of choice whether you want a breakfast, light lunch or a cream tea! You can't fault the service, the staff are lovely. It's always spotless too. If you sit inside the views are stunning out to the Bristol Channel and in the Summer you can sit outside it's a great little sun trap. It's ideal for families there is an area inside were children can sit and play or with the bouncy castles out the front when the weather is nice this helps to keep little ones amused! Can't fault this place! Will be visiting again soon!

It was a miserable wet day on our visit to Ilfracombe and we were looking for somewhere to park and get a drink. This café Bistro is located at the Landmark theatre and there is convenient car parking on site (don't forget to buy a ticket from the machine). I ordered a skinny Cappuccino for my wife (unusual to be able to find a proper skinny outside the likes of a Costa) and I had a tea. My wife commented upon how good the coffee was and I had a decent cup of tea. We sat by the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bay, watching the activity on and off the water. Very helpful and polite staff. Would definitely return when next in the town.

Called in here on my visits to Ilfracombe by M V Balmoral. It 's a nice buzzy place and fine if you happen to be alone. Just had a drink and have sat indoors and out on the little terrace. On good days the views of the sea are wonderful. On one occasion I even met Basil Brush who was doing an afternoon children 's show.It is a great addition to the Ilfracombe scene and I would think it is popular with both visitors and locals. Just one negative is the toilet. I realise it gets a lot of use, but it can be very warm, stuffy and a bit pongy. Seems to need a better ventilation system! That said, I have enjoyed my visits to the Rendezvous this Summer and will certainly be back.
