"We held our small wedding reception at The Arbury and were thrilled with the exceptional food and service. Our guests raved about the delicious wine and welcome cocktail. Despite having only Martin in the kitchen, all four courses were served simultaneously and perfectly cooked. Lucy, the host, was very accommodating and helped us decorate the restaurant with flowers and other decorations, as well as providing table cloths and napkins. Her communication with us was excellent and she offered helpful ideas. The Arbury is the ideal venue for intimate events and we feel fortunate to have such a great spot in Baldock."

"This charming rural pub doesn't have a separate gluten-free menu, but there are several options available on the regular menu, including desserts. The bread was good and the burger was delicious. The steak also looked impressive. I didn't experience any negative effects, so I assume they are careful about cross contamination."

"My family and I (all 30 of us) had a celebration Sunday lunch today for my Mum’s 80th birthday. We had the most delicious food that was plentiful, served promptly and hot no mean feat when there are 30 hungry mouths to feed. All the staff were friendly, supportive and went over and above to be kind and helpful. A special mention to Alex and Kieran who were patient, supportive and kind when my cousin fell ill. We are all so very grateful for all that they did for us. We would most definitely recommend the G&D Graveley and will be back soon to sample some more of their delicious cuisine. Thank you for everything x Also a shout out goes to Mike (an off duty Police Officer) who is a regular he was outstanding with his offer of support and swift action to help us. Thank you x"

"So a couple of weeks ago we ordered a takeaway from Piato restaurant in Baldock. 3 chicken souvlaki, 12.95 each, so 38.85 in total. One of the chicken meals was undercooked with pink/blood running through, so could not be eaten. All 3 meals came with a salad in a box and all 3 salads were brown . Andy called the manager and was very respectful and pointed out how surprised we were as we have eaten many times at Piato's and have never had a bad meal. The manager said he was sorry and he will cook the chicken longer next time and he insisted that the brown on the salad was due to the dressing that was put on the salad. He told Andy he was sorry and when we next order, he will do something for us to make amends. Today Andy called to order 3 more meals and was told we could have a 10% discount 3.80. Andy said that that offer was ridiculous as one whole meal last time was inedible, the manager would then only offer 15% 5.82. Off the order. Andy was told that they were not offering any more than that. So we cancelled the order and will never eat in Piato's again. What a joke and such a shame what poor customer service from what we thought was a quality restaurant. Check your chicken folks!!!"

"I attended the restaurant with my partner as it appeared a nice place to eat from the outside. To be honest the choice of food was not really appealing but we were already there so though we would go ahead and order. I chose chicken and my partner ordered steak and chips. The chicken did taste good with the sauce, however I asked for an alternative to mushroom, and noticed that they did not remove it completely. The green beans was a nice alternative but the meal was not filling so it was just chicken in sauce and green beans. The steak had all the flavour but as it was not tender but chewy it left my partner feeling very disappointed. Desert Bramley Apple Crumble with nuts and Ice Cream So there was a lot of sauce that taste like maple syrup (very sweet), could not see or taste any apples and as for the crumble it seemed as if they took a table spoon of crumble and sprinkled over the sauce and called it 'Apple crumble '. To top it all we felt it was over priced. The only one positive I would like to report is the service, Ellie was very professional and made us feel very much at home."
