"Hidden gem is an overused term, but this little gastro pub that is tucked away in Derriaghy (use a satnav) on the outskirts of Lisburn really is just that. Serving a great and pretty unique veggie menu with vegan items. Not the usual lazy, or easy, stuff. Buffalo wing style cauliflower florets are honestly delicious and have a sharp, sweet, spicy taste and a zingy batter that meant I consumed at least 2 full Cauliflowers on my last visit. The Vegetarian toastie exemplifies the take this place has on Veggie classics: tasty, big and not something you'd dream up at home. Huge amount of seating and full compliment of crafty brews. Reasonable price too. Making a great effort to serve exciting Veg food that's got to be applauded, let alone the fact they pull it off admirably and at a more than reasonable cost. Worth your time!"

Cosy vibe, brilliant portions, the curry is delicious and it became a tradition to go for their nuts roasts for Christmas

The restaurant no longer offers the nut roast, which was the main dish I wanted to try. They have also reduced their vegan options.

No longer the nut roast, which was the main reason for walking. Cut back to some vegan options Updated from previous review on 2022-07-02

The restaurant had a complete vegan menu (check before you go how this could be a sample thing). My server didn't know why I rated it 4 stars. I had a delicious Kimchi bao Bungalow Starter, black bean and Quinoa Burger main and a pecan tart to finish. A nice meal.

The restaurant offered a complete vegan menu, although it's advisable to check beforehand as this may vary. My server seemed unaware of why I gave it 4 stars. I enjoyed a tasty kimchi Bao-Bohnen-Starter, a black bean and quinoa burger, and finished with a pecan tart. It was a delightful meal overall.

We used the app when we were at the edge of Lisburn, super hungry and apparently in the middle of nowhere. You have a surprisingly dedicated vegan menu and it was hard to choose because I did not use to options. I took the Buddha shelves and it was one of the best I ever had. Sweet potato, brown rice, fresh green beans, spinach and a spicy curry dressing. It meets the place and the staff is nice. Our server was a veggie itself so that it ensured that everything was prepared vegan friendly. Definitely recamend and will be back.

We used the app when we were on the outskirts of Lisburn, super hungry and seemingly in the middle of nowhere. They have a surprisingly dedicated vegan menu and it was hard to choose because I'm not used to options. I picked the Buddha bowl and it was one of the best I've ever had. Sweet potato, brown rice, fresh green beans, spinach, and a spicy curry dressing. It hit the spot and the staff are lovely. Our server was a veggie herself so she made sure everything was prepared vegan friendly. Definitely reccamend and will be back.

I am baffled by the fact that individuals lacking in customer service skills are employed in a customer-oriented industry. It was not surprising to come across several reviews criticizing the staff and their behavior towards customers. While the restaurant itself and the food are satisfactory (albeit expensive), the staff's attitude greatly affects the overall experience. Specifically, two staff members are disrespectful and haughty, and could benefit from incorporating feedback from reviews in order to improve the restaurant's success.

"Without a doubt the worst experience we have ever had. Pre booked a table for 5 for dinner on Saturday evening and when we arrived they didn't seem that busy. We were shown to our table relatively quick. We then had to sit there for around 20 minutes until someone came to take our food order. I was a bit surprised that there was only 2 steaks on the menu unless you gave 24hr notice. We then had to ask could we order a drink. It wasn't a difficult order 1 beer and 4 Fanta. We waited a further 15 for the drinks to come which were wrong also the glasses were disgusting with lipstick and previous drink residue on them.we eventually got all that sorted and the food came. I had ordered a mixed grill which was £28 I asked for my steak to be cooked medium. The plates were literally just in front of us 2 minutes when a waitress came and asked was everything OK. As I began to work my way through the food I eventually got to the 8oz steak which was very well done and extremely hard to chew so it was left. When everyone had finished they came to clear the plates and I told the waitress that I had asked for medium and not well done and to my surprise she immediately got on the defensive asking did someone come and see if everything was OK I told her yes but it was just after the food was brought. 2 minutes later the owner of the place came out of the kitchen with my steak on a small plate and proceeded to tell me I was wrong and that that's the way a medium steak should look but there was not even a slight tinge of pink. He then started to tell me that I didn't know how steak was cooked. I then mentioned the glasses and he said didn't they get replaced so what's the problem. At this point t my kids were getting pretty upset so I just asked for the bill so we could leave. To be honest it was very intimidating to have a well over 6ft man stand over you arguing over a piece of steak. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone."

"Where to begin? Our mother decided to “treat” myself and my sister to lunch. However, soon our joy turned into laughter, and then to severe disappointment. My sister and I shared a “panini” of bacon, Brie and cranberry sauce. Firstly, the “panini” was a baguette...which had been seared then microwaved. The bacon was the best bit, yet had clearly reheated in a microwave. The Brie, was next to non-existent. The cranberry sauce, oh my goodness it was atrocious. Our “panini” was not a generous size for a grand price of half of which was filled with psychedelic blood-like sugary cranberry sauce (with giant chunks of cranberry). First when my sister took a bite I thought she was over exaggerating, for I had not tasted the cranberry sauce yet, it was upon my second bite the true horror of the “panini” had come to fruition. Picture this, expecting to have a bite of creamy Brie, crispy bacon, and tart cranberry sauce, and then instead being met with a taste that resembled sweetened jelly powder. I tried to convince myself that my tastebuds were deceiving me I fought through the overwhelming taste of sweeties, to attempt to taste the Brie, which in fact I couldn’t find. The bacon flavour barely made it through and the bread was more a sponge for soaking up the cranberry sauce. As you can see from the photo provided, in order to make some attempt at finishing the “panini”, my sister and I had to dissect it and surgically remove what looked like blood clots cranberries. To add to this horror, there was but a sad pile of coleslaw, apparently a pile of crinkle-cut crisps it wasn’t even to my surprise at this point that there was one solitary crinkle-cut crisp among a variety of other flavoured basic crisps. To top this all off, our mother bravely tried the pink foam substance (we still aren’t sure what it was) and she had to immediately reach for her glass of water to wash away the taste. This experience produced within us both feelings of guilt and shame. Guilt, because our mother (who rarely eats out) was attempting to “treat” us to brunch. She felt guilty at inflicting such a disastrous “panini” on us as a “treat”. Shame, because we are the type of family who NEVER leave food on our plates, yet we were so embarrassed about how it looked like we barely ate anything at all, so we quickly made an exit. In conclusion, the hot food needs serious reform. On a positive note, the staff seemed friendly."
