"Called in here after a walk around Fewston reservoir, and it was fantastic. It looks great from the outside and doesn't disappoint inside, it's a proper pub. I was fascinated by the history and the ladies behind the bar were knowledgeable about it. The original 18th century part is well maintained and large extension to the rear is well within keeping of the original style. There are some fantastic old photos on the wall too, well worth a look. Called in with my young family and the staff were really friendly and accommodating for my young family. The menu is perfect, exactly what you'd want from a British Pub, not trying to be anything it isn't and missing the mark but doing good British pub food. It delivered too! Food arrived quickly which was helpful with impatient little ones. The steak pie was incredible, big portion, full of tender meat and rich gravy. My wife had fish cakes which she said were really good, and kids were happy with theirs. Nice choice of beers too, Timothy Taylor's enough said, went perfectly with steak pie. It was also really pleasantly surprising in a pub like this to have such forward thinking baby changing options; separate toilet just for this, with creams, wipes etc provided in case you didn't have your own. Left very satisfied and looking forward to returning soon. Well done to all staff, and don't change or lose the fantastic identify and product you have that so many others don't."

Visited here after looking around for a local pub to eat. We found the pub friendly with plenty of room. The food menu was good and prices very reasonable. Food quality was very good as were portion sizes. Overall would definitely recommend.

We stopped here completely by chance as we were travelling elsewhere. What a gem of a find. The staff were really welcoming. Real fires and a good selection of beers and drinks. The food was excellent. I had the kick ass chicken which was to die for. My wife had the small gammon which was gorgeous and still looked like a regular portion. All in all a really great place. I wish I lived closer. Thank you

We arrived at the sun inn and there was plenty of car parking space, we had not pre booked for food and after walking into the pub we could feel a nice warm friendly and comfortable atmosphere, lots of customer's were already in the pub but we found a table for two and went to the bar to order food and drinks, the barman who took our order was very helpful and explained a few question's when asked about the food menu in a happy to help manner, the food and drinks were very reasonably priced . Within 15 minutes our food arrived at our table, it looked very well presented and appetizing, it was hot and tasted homemade, really nice food in a nice and comfortably pub 10/10 View menu

Staying locally to the pub, booked this specific pub as it was dog friendly. Booked a table via the online booking system and said dogs were part of our party (there 's yes or no question on the online form as to whether you have dogs with you) We were met by a waitress who did seem quite flustered. She told me our table was in the non dog friendly section, and I didn 't put anywhere we had dogs. When I check my booking email, it says that I put Yes to the question, do you have dogs. She kept repeating that we hadn 't booked a table with dogs. We decided to leave in the end, as we heard the waitress say to another member of staff they definitely didn 't book a table with dogs . Appreciate it...

So many options for Gluten Free/Coeliac! The coeliac in our group was able to have chicken goujons, scampi and chips we were reassured that even the chips are fried separately from the gluten containing foods. The pub was really lovely and warm, on a cold winters day, and the staff were very friendly. The prices of food and drink were all very reasonable and the portions were hearty. The desserts were enjoyed by all the sticky toffee pud being GF as well was a lovely addition. The dog friendly area is separate from the main dining, so those who don't want to be near doggos don't have to be. Our doggo loved lying in front of the fire. The staff kept it topped up but also were very safety cons...

"all those people who leave 1 star (or low star reviews) have either extremely high expectations or just have to be out to harm the call of a gem of a sandwich shop. I stopped yesterday, was late for lunch to my surprise and joy that they were still open, was a waiting queue to eat, so I might have been happy that they thought they would do 1 more order. I had the cheese-cutney sandwich couldn't resist the Scotch egg with black pudding. the Scotch egg was phenomenal, black pudding mixed with the sausage meat, a soft egg yolk practically still runny, which I really did not expect to add only to the already large aromene, the egg comes with a small pot homemade brown sauce (ketchup is an option, but I prefer brown soße) also the soße is a normal but it is a manifestation, it is a the sandwich was ineffective, thick-cut cheese on a homemade roll with homemade chutney (I suppose when everything else was made home) filled with fresh salad, I am curious what the difference between this is the ploughman’s, as it was in the round a ploughmans sandwich. the brot, cheese salad were all fresh taste amazing, the chutney transformed it, was like a cross between chutney salsa like the brown sauce was more sweet without much flavor, but really a great amount taste to what was possibly the best sandwich I had ever had! well made youngs, eating is great a try worth. reasonably also consider that it is the center of harrogate."
