Staff were excellent had a toast dinner the Yorkshire’s and gravy were absolutely mouth watering. , happily come here weekly management have really turned it round

So the swynerton arms is a pub I’ve using for over twenty years now, its had its ups and downs until jo arrived and turned it around, employing the right staff was the main part of the task (also the decor) but danni the chef...

We went with 2 friends for a meal on 9/9/23 and was very disappointed in our meals we all had steak which came with no peas as they had run out!! The mushrooms were cold to which they went to fetch us some more but again cold the pepper corn sauce was like pouring water on my steak, and the chips were like they had been in the fryer all day, so all in all very disappointed and safe to say will not be returning

I had pate to start which was a cold starter so couldn’t go wrong., came with no butter. Main was a beef roast dinner that was served cold, paid extra for a uncooked stuffing ball. Waitress was lovely and returned our food to be re-heated, I didn’t mind that. Veg was frozen veg and watery, not sure about the Yorkshire pudding but it really didn’t taste nice, no new potatoes as states on menu, 2 roast potatoes that were ok, roast beef over cooked a dry. Just home from The Swynnerton Arms utterly replete and ready to lavish praise on this establishment. We booked a table for five, and went for the full three courses. The starters were very encouraging. Personally I went for the corned beef bon bons. How novel, I have never seen anything like these on any other menu, and they were superb. The Branston Pickle and salad accompanying these really worked. All the mains, ranging from rump steak to the Swynnerton Burger were perfect, and those chips!!!!! I have eaten here many times , and always enjoyed both my meal and the atmosphere . However, I believe it is under new management with a new menu , which I experienced last night. We had pre ordered some of the meals as there were14 of us, but asked to make a change to two of them and were told that it wasn’t possible as they were already being cooked .. this is before we had even had starters and it was only lasagne we wanted to swap from to gammon . I also asked if we could have two separate tabs as two families , again it was not possible. Starters came minus one) that came after we had all finished ours . The food was adequate, but wasn’t as freshly cooked or as hot as it could have been...

I ordered 2 scampi meals. When it eventually come I thought that's funny shape for scampi? I cut into it, it was pink inside..I thought it was raw. When I took the batter off it was shrimps!!!! So I called the waitress over and told her. She said yeah the chef said got no scampi so did those, they are fresh. I said they maybe fresh but I ordered 2 scampi and I can't eat those don't like them. (What about alleries?? Why didnt anyone come out and explain that there was no scampi and choose something else??
