The Village Inn Buriton

What a beautiful place for a meal. The food (we had fish and chips) was excellent and the waitress attentive, but not excessive. Will definitely go back.

Too bad the place was empty. Only another couple came when we were there. Disappointed that there was only one steak pudding, but the hophead beer was excellent.

the friendly atmosphere personal was friendly and helpful. they checked how we enjoyed eating and we even had a visit from the cook! also our 8-months enjoyed themselves. I would recommend the village inn. Too bad it wasn't a real hidden gem.

We had a lovely lunch in a clean and compact room that perfectly met our needs. The breakfast was good, but we couldn't shake the feeling that every penny and possible profit was a concern, creating a slightly tense atmosphere in the restaurant.

The atmosphere at The Village Inn was lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. They made sure we were enjoying our food and even had a visit from the chef. Our 8-month-old had a great time as well. I would highly recommend The Village Inn. It's a hidden gem, although it's a shame it wasn't busier.

Perhaps I arrived too late but I wasn't made to feel very welcome and the whole thing was really fairly awkward. Even though I had a reservation, I stood and waited for 10mins before someone came out from the back and then they seemed surprised to see me. I had the feeling they thought about saying they weren't going to serve me. All seemed a bit begrudging. Anyways, the food was good but not startling. Based on the amount of stars I see here, I'd try lunch and see how it goes.

Out on date night, our second attempt to get here, first visit cancelled due to a poorly pup! The wait was worth it. The ambiance and feel of the place is warm, welcoming, clean, comfortable and a very pleasant environment. The staff are welcoming and seem to be proud of the establishment and so they should be. The menu is a well prepared assortment of traditional fare, but all done with exceptional care and attention. We had the confit duck leg and the sirloin steak with a starter of mackerel pate and gravlax salmon, all of which was done exactly the way we like it.
