"My wife and I were looking forward to visiting this cafe in view of the excellent reviews . However when we arrived we were approached by a chap , possibly the owner who, instead of offering assistance to get over the threshold step told my...wife and it would be better if we did not go in as it may be unsafe. We couldn't believe this man's attitude, offered no assistance and basically made us feel unwelcome. We left disheartened that such discriminatory people still exist , although we ended up having an excellent breakfast in the Coffee Grind around the corner. I have to say in all my years visiting older buildings which do not have purpose built disabled access this is the first time I have had such a negative unfriendly experience ."

"Firstly I would like to say that this restaurant has just been refurbished, and it didn’t feel like an Italian restaurant, more like a cafe at the beach somewhere! It felt very sparse and most Italian restaurants I e been to have proper tablecloths on the table but these were plastic and I noticed one table it was tapped up underneath, in my opinion it needs to be made more warmly and have more of a family feel. The food was really nice,although I would advise anyone to make sure they double check their order as I chose chicken in a sauce really nice which came with vegetables but I also asked for a separate portion of potatoes, when it arrived I just had chicken with a few cut up potatoes and a very very small garnish of salad ! I mentioned this to the waitress who had taken our order and she said I know but the chef had given you extra salad !! Sorry but salad is not vegetables , it clearly said on the menu it came with vegetables. Having said about the above issue, the meals we all had were nice and the staff gave us a very warm welcome and because of the blip they said we could have a free pudding…..not sure if we all did or it was just mine but I never see the bill as we were treated to this. To finish the evening off we were given a lovely limoncello shot. We would definitely go back. Thankyou for a lovely evening in your restaurant"

"We have been coming here for years. It’s our go to pub in Goudhurst. We love the traditional cosy old interior, with timber frame and fire. It’s always a very calming environment, even when it’s full. What sets this pub apart is there fantastic and diverse menu, which fills two large chalk boards. They even have ‘chiperones’ which is rare to come by in rural england freshly fried baby squid. As good as what you would get in spain. Today they even had a separate fish menu, with 6 delicious fish mains. It’s always great here. We love nothing more than to come here and sit infront if the fire and look out the back window over the valley. In summer they have a great beer garden too. The staff are great!"

"Had an early dinner at Zorba last Friday, this was my second visit and we were extremely happy with our experience. We were feeling hungry, opted for the chicken platter and mixed meze, the food was excellent and the portions were such that we still had a good doggybag to take away. The staff were very welcoming and our server Fred was extremely helpful and made our meal feel special."

"Should have been very good, BUT.... Went here with some friends who strongly recommended the special steak option, which they had had before were looking forward to again. They had it but my wife and I didn't, preferring to try something different. Their steaks arrived we could immediately tell they weren't as expected. Apparently they were tough didn't have much flavour. We commented on this to the waiter, who apologised continued with our meal. My wife my choices were much better. At the end of the meal, the waiter brought us the bill told us that the whole group of restaurants had returned their steaks to their suppliers! I checked the bill saw that we had been charged full price for ours! I queried this with the waiter who disappeared quite sheepishly returned with a revised bill with the steaks removed. I find this frankly unacceptable. When someone complains in a restaurant regarding food quality, I expect the restaurant to look into the problem, but then having found out that the group had returned all their steaks, the fact that they tried to charge us full price...."

"We visited this restaurant a little over a week ago and were very impressed with our meal, the staff, and the overall ambiance. My flat iron steak with peppercorn sauce was delicious and cooked to perfection by Caroline. Caroline was present in the restaurant, greeting everyone with her usual smiles and warmth. The staff, including newcomer Rebecca, were amazing - attentive, friendly, and eager to cater to our needs. Rich, the manager, was running the place smoothly. We wish we could remember the names of all the other staff members that night because they were all fantastic. The restaurant was bustling with customers and had a great atmosphere. Overall, we couldn't fault a thing!"

"Can’t fault how friendly both staff and repeat clientele were. Sadly we were propped on a couple of tables in the bar despite booking early for Mother’s Day. What the pub lacks in style it makes up for in quality of food. Note not all options online available but what was was incredible. Ups friendly helpful staff despite a very busy day. Personally recommend Tom Dick and Harry Dessert Downs Not attractive place to eat There’s a smell to the pub that’s off putting Customers were openly vaping at bar despite people dining yards away. Queue for carvery not explained so the rest of my table had finished eating by the time I rejoined them Family dining would have been preferable as wait for carvery was long and hard for some age groups who walked with a stick. Also you have to walk through part of kitchen clean up area to get to carvery which is not clearly signposted. People encouraged to queue right next to people eating which isn’t pleasant either. Worth a relook. Not somewhere we’ll re visit, a shame as good value and great quality but it’s not all about the food."

"Stopped into this restaurant on our way home from a good day out. This meal topped off a fantastic day out for us. We’ve often seen this restaurant but never been in before. The welcome was lovely and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The food, well what can I say, I always have a signature dish I like if it’s on the menu to set the standard and they delivered a very tasty and highly flavoured dish. My husband enjoyed his chicken tikka jalfrezi also. The naan bread was gorgeous, we had a peshwari naan and it was the right amount of coconut which was scrummy."

"The Three Chimneys is housed in a charming old building and boasts a spacious parking area, which is a major advantage. However, we were disappointed by the dark ambiance of the bar and individual rooms, as well as the uncomfortable chairs and tables. Our table had low sides, making it difficult for taller individuals to sit comfortably. The wooden chairs were hard, small, and not easily movable. On the positive side, the service provided by the young and helpful staff was exceptional, and the quality and presentation of the food were impressive. We all opted for the homemade tomato and basil soup (£6.50), which was served in a large bowl with fresh bread and butter. The soup was hot, flavorful, and had a nice texture. For my main course, I ordered the breaded pork escalope with chimichurri, parmentier potatoes, greens, and apple puree (£18.95), while the other guests had either a prawn cocktail starter or dessert. Our total bill, including a 10% optional service charge, came to £82.00. Overall, we have mixed feelings about returning to The Three Chimneys due to the dim lighting and uncomfortable furniture."

"We've just had a Boxing day dinner here and we chose the 2 courses for £42.95. The pork main and the apple tart was very nice but my goodness the portions were small. 1 roll of pork, small piece of crackling, 1 carrot, 1 ball of potato, some kale and 1/2 a teaspoon of apple puree. Apple tart was with ice cream in a nice caramel/toffee sauce, but again really small. I was initially worried about being able to eat 2 courses as I usually only eat a main, but I've actually come away wanting more to eat."

"The Imperial is due a bit of a rave. I don't think you could pretend it's fine dining. It does pizza and pasta and a small selection of other Italian dishes. The service is friendly and accommodating, the pizzas are excellent and the prices are reasonable. If you were going to go to Pizza Express, Zizzi, Bella Italia or the like and want somewhere better this is definitely it. My son and I had a really good evening. We'll be back. Probably quite regularly."

"Faultless! Best Sunday roast to date. And we’ve been for A LOT! The meet and greet was spot on (we didn’t book but they accommodated us), the attention to detail was second to none, it’s clear that this is a well-run business, the toilets (according to my wife) are as they would be at home, quote “home from home and I actually sat on the seat” (lol). We both had the lamb and it was actually amazing. Perfect portion size, veg cooked just lovely and a massive credit to Theo who was ever so attentive. We are far from local but we are already planning our return."

"I love this place. I really do. But there has been a change. The £12 breakfast used to be really good quality, here what’s changed. They used to be home made beans, they were amazing, the sauce was top. Now, I kid you not, they are tinned beans and that’s fine, but I literally, and kid you not, got one single spoon of beans. The bacon was over done and dry, clearly made in the oven and reheated. The meal plating was sporadic, and looked bare. Used to be my go too, now the portion size, lack of good service (brung three dishes out with 5 min intervals between) change to cheaper ingredients; it’s just a shame. I hope they take notice and be how they used to be. Maybe it’s new owners or something?"

"When one requires sophisticated dining one simply wanders down to the Ivy Tunbridge wells just steps away from the charismatic streets of the pantiles. Filled with a rich atmosphere you can be sure to feel bouji among the maximalism decor and classy bar. The welcome is always pleasant with caring and attentive staff at the door. Upon a recent visit the wonderful waiter Daniel was looking after us for our evening meal, very well informed on the menu and excellent service we could not fault his knowledge and attentiveness to our night, making our visit most splendid indeed. We could not fault this visit Daniel was superb!"

"I had a lovely breakfast in Cranbrook and found food for thought by stumbling upon it. I had the full English breakfast. It was well made but a bit pricey to be honest, I didn't expect a London price so far out. I found it tasty but not value for money. They did get rather full by lunch time and so it's obviously a popular spot. The staff are very friendly too"

"Pleasant pub near the Toad Rock formation in Tunbridge Wells. The beer was in good condition. Several areas to sit outside, and the interior was nicely decorated. I went on a very quiet Friday afternoon and there were only two other customers so a very sedate atmosphere. Friendly welcome from the staff. It's probably more lively in the evening! Didn't try the food but the menu sounded good. A good place to stop if walking around the area."

"Let me deal with what I consider the negatives first. The menu is not extensive but when offering seasonal produce that is inevitable to a certain extent, but there is one choice of potato and bizarrely only one vegetable cabbage. The Amuse Bouche is a nice touch but it would have been nice to know what we were eating! It was just placed on the table with no explanation . Finally for the negatives gorgeous bread, butter and dips but no plates! Parking wasn't easy but at other times we were there in the evening) it might be better and of course not within the gift of the restaurant. So onto the positives... It's beautifully styled and decorated. The volume of candles and unusual light fittings are gorgeous and the use of scrabble letters and stands for the personal table reservations is fun. There is a good selection of wines although we didn't indulge) and some very current cocktail choices which were delicious). We asked for tap water which came in a generous carafe. All the food was beautifully presented and tasty and sufficient for me although my husband went on the hunt for a snack before bed when we got home. The chap who served us was very attentive, chatty, helpful and knowledgable and very pleasant in his approach. I would visit again but I am not sure my husband would be so keen..."

"The staff, food atmosphere at Pantiles Cafe are second to none. We visit Pantiles Cafe around 2 3 times a week because there is nowhere else in town which makes us feel more comfortable and welcomed. The waiting staff; Rosie, Daisy, Hannah, Rupert Megan work so hard. They are the most wonderful team who make Pantiles Cafe the special place that it is. The steak sandwich is also such an asset to their menu please keep it on there! Thanks for all the hard work, you have created our little sanctuary/happy place whenever we visit you guys!"

"My dining companion and I treated ourselves to drunken noodles (beef), massaman curry with chicken, and jasmine rice. Both the curry and noodles were loaded with fresh vegetables and packed with flavor. The beef in the noodles was tender, and my personal favorite was the rich and spicy coconut sauce in the massaman curry. The chicken was incredibly tender, and the jasmine rice complemented the dishes perfectly. The meal was a great deal, and I wish I lived closer so I could dine here more often."
