"start well, website had labeled vegan options, but the website menu was different than sitting in the menu. the sitting in the menu was not even with those dishes were vegan and also not the dessert board, so we had to ask each time. for a vegetarian place I would have thought that they would all be above the vegan aspekt of nutritional requirements, but this place was not and it was not as if the menus were not able to be changed, it was just paper. in my opinion, eating was lacking in taste, very high end prices and smaller portions than we expected. the pink grapefruit hummus was homemade hummus with two small pieces brot and a slitter of pink grapefruit although they offer us butter, but we had to ask if they were a vegan version. the hummus needed more salt and lemon and the green pate we needed more taste. in general, to say we were disappointed was an understatement, the vegan variety of enchiladas was a bad attempt to regain the court. Although it had a little more taste than the starter, it came with grated carrot and hummus, two packs roasted with the Puy-Lentil middle. there was no check-in to see how the meal also came from the personal. £70 for a meal for 2 with drinks and disregard with the entire experience was not expected after some reviews and their trips at all. because of all the above mentioned I would not recommend visiting here. all they need to do is eat better and love more detail for vegan substitutions such as a vegan cashew cheese and vegan cream along with improving their passion for taste and this place could be a real hit that drinks were excellent and the cocktails went a tasty and the atmosphere was also great."

Had the festive vegan dinner; lovely, but watch out for the portion size as it proved to be very filling. Simple decor and furnishings but a great atmosphere. Very helpful staff.

It's lovely inside and the staff are nice. The food is good but the problem is for a vegetarian restaurant the number of vegan options is tiny. Almost everything contains cheese! They should provide vegan cheese! View menu

He began to come here in the late 80s and early 90s and pleased to find that it is still going. Not for 30 years, but went last night when I was back in the opposite and it was still great. updated by previous review on 2021-09-12

while the menu does not specify any vegan options, any amount of their menu can be adjusted. from four starters could be made three vegan/were vegan (pâté, hummus supp,e.) for the net could be two of three vegan (mushroom, spinat and cashew biryani, and a mushroom bouruignon.) they also had a Puy-Lentil-Chali served with a flat brot or rice. children loved it, and the biryani was absolutely delicious!

We had a really nice meal here. I hadn’t been for a few years and I was pleased to see that most of the dishes are either vegan or can be veganised though it would be good if they all could be. It’s a nice setting for a romantic meal and has a cosy vibe. We also enjoyed the beer selection and I really liked the cherry beer. The portions are large my partner has a healthy appetite and a main was more than enough (although he also had to finish mine off so although it’s possibly a bit pricey it doesn’t feel extortionate. I've been coming here since the early 2000's and eventually tonight it became a five star Happy Cow dining venue. I've deleted my original review written about 6 years ago and cleaned the slate. Setting, atmosphere, lighting, staff, food, wine and company all excellent. The vegan options are superb. Only two main courses could not be modified as vegan. We started with antipasti and homemade pates and bread. The main courses we chose were both ridiculously delicious. A roasted lemon and aubergine chick pea tagine and a mushroom and spinach curry with cashew instead of feta. The Waiting Room is now a priority dining venue and up there with the best in the North East of England.

the restaurant is absolutely unique and has won many awards. it is surprisingly a vegetarian restaurant that serves kitchen that I believe it bears impressions of many dressed throughout the world. it is difficult to attach a name to the type of food they serve, but tasty and endearing are the cakes that come to me. they claim to create unique recipes and believe in slow cooking of organic food. it is on the expensive side, but eating is worth the price. they use rich ingredients such as loads of nuts and cheese, and thus the nutritional value is high. However, the parts are large and therefore they should be careful when ordering if they do not want to waste. I enjoyed the friendly ambiente...

"We started with the Alkaline Nachos (£10.95), which featured nachos topped with marinated baked quinoa, fried beans, cashew cream, guacamole, pineapple salsa, and pickled red cabbage. The dish was drizzled with smoked cashew cheese. They were delightful, sweeter than any nachos I had before, and had a nice tangy twist. Next, we tried the BBQ Tacos (£9.50), which included shredded carrot in an alkaline BBQ sauce served in a crispy corn shell filled with fried beans and guacamole, along with pineapple salsa and pickled red cabbage, accompanied by a side salad. These were hands down the best BBQ tacos I've had in the north. The Thai Buddy Bowl (£10.95) was another standout dish. It featured orange teriyaki chickpea tofu, surrounded by pineapple "fried" quinoa, purple coleslaw, a Thai side salad with almond and ginger dressing, and quinoa falafels with mango chutney. The blend of flavors was incredible, and this was my favorite dish—something I could happily eat several times a week. I plan to return just for this dish! We also tried the Thai Wrap (£9.95), which contained quinoa and drippy butter falafels wrapped in a soft tortilla with mango chutney, coleslaw, and kimchi—served with a Thai side salad, almond and ginger dressing, and pineapple quinoa. The combination of ingredients in this falafel wrap was unexpected but fantastic. Once again, it was sweeter than I had anticipated. For dessert, we enjoyed the Pink Pitaya Acai Bowl (£5.50), a fruity and smooth blend with celestial blueberries, bananas, kiwi, and coconut—perfect for breakfast! It was a real power breakfast. We paired our meal with Immunity Boost Juice (£4.00 each) made from strawberry, pear, apple, and lemon juice—it was refreshing and invigorating. The Tropical Sunrise Smoothie (£4.50) blended papaya, mango, orange, banana, coconut, maple, and cashew, maintaining the unique flavors of each fruit beautifully. Lastly, we had the Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie (£4.50), featuring strawberries, banana, peanut butter, maple syrup, and lemon balm. It might sound odd, but it worked perfectly— the earthy peanut butter provided a lovely texture and taste that complemented the sweetness of the fruit. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that was well worth the wait."
