just called in for a quiet tonsil tickler and was well pleased with the hospitality,will see be calling back asap to a meal.

Unwelcoming. Food was so dire, all of us left at least half the meal. I left 3/4. Beer was cloudy, and didn’t finish it. Such a shame as it used to be a great place to visit.

We had heard that the pub had reopened, so we decided to visit for lunch. The staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was lovely. The pub was very dog-friendly, and Bertie enjoyed the endless supply of dog biscuits. The food was typical pub fare. I particularly enjoyed the seafood ploughman's, and my partner thought the fish and chips were some of the best he's had. We definitely plan on returning.

Excellent lunch at the White Lion with a mate after clay shooting at Owls Lodge today. This was the closest pub that was open on a Thursday lunchtime, so it was kind of pot luck, but what a lovely traditional pub. A very friendly welcome, a good lunch menu (we both had one of the superb home made pies) and a decent Adnams Ghost Ship low alcohol bitter (which actually tastes like beer) as I was driving. There’s a good choice of Ringwood Ales for those that aren’t. Every possible Covid precaution looked to be in place, thankfully there is sufficient space in the bars and outside areas for table spacing to work ok, without losing the feel of a proper pub. On August 31st, my family and I, accompanied by the fantastic guide Jill Pretorius of Windsor Day Tours, stopped by The White Lion Inn Pub after exploring Winchester and before heading to Stonehenge. Despite feeling jet lagged and exhausted, we were excited and hungry. The pub, which Jill jokingly referred to as a "brand new" establishment being only 400 years old, welcomed us with open arms. We were seated at a large family table and served water, beers, and ciders. The meat pies and fish and chips we ordered were simply delicious, typical of homemade country pub fare.
