"First time I have been in this pub, shouldn't have bothered , asked for the Sunday roast , where do I start ? roast potatoes were inedible had been warmed up from the day before and had just been dipped in fat, carrots were uncooked , broccoli was the same the Roast Beef was really good could have soled our shoes with it, would have lasted a good 6 months without resoling them. But give them their due they offered us a complimentary drink which my Grandson took. Service was good , that's all can say about it."

I was in earlier this week with friends, food and drinks are reasonable. Staff are vulgar and swear ALOT.

I was shocked to see the partner of Hatfield's biggest con man working at a community event. Not sure what thats all about. View menu

I was in this pub last night for a party, the pub it's self is great, drinks are reasonable too. My problem was one of the bar tenders, she was rude, she smelt and she looked like she hadn't slept for a few days, her mouth was gurning all night and she was trying to walk in a pair of stilettos from 1970!!

The Wrestlers re-opened on 18th May and we visited a couple of days ago. All of the original bits and pieces which adorned the walls have gone, including the dart board, and it's just all tables and chairs and very stark. The food is more expensive and not up to the former standard, so we'll leave it a while before we re-visit.

Went for Mother’s Day lunch and was really let down by the food and service. The food was clearly leftover and dry and just overall not enjoyable to eat. Service was lazy (young chap behind bar was pleasant), had to ask to get our plates cleared away and just felt a bit forgotten about. Sadly won’t be returning to what used to be a great spot for Sunday roast View menu

I have been told that this pub was a nice family pub with a good garden, i came with my husband and the grandchildren! I was rudely spoken to by a young girl late 30 s with red hair and glasses, her hygiene was unacceptable for one and i also caught her putting change from the till into her own back pocket which i thought was unfair as she was hardly doing any work at all and unnecessary going into the till when no service was provided!

Visited here again following a lovely carvery in May. This time the carvery had gone and the pub seems to have re-focused onto football. The food was OK but not as good as our previous visit. The real eye-opener was our visit to to men's toilets. They were in a disgusting state and left us hoping that the staff preparing our food did not have to use them. This seemed mainly due to poor maintenance than abuse by clients and was not helped by a total lack of anyway to dry your hands.

"A slightly bizarre experience we were welcomed warmly, taken to our table, and given a menu for pre dinner drinks. No food menus were brought. We ordered drinks, which arrived, but still no menus! So we asked for them. No wine list brought. So we asked for one. All rather odd. The starters were mixed a bland crab risotto, a rather vinegary tartare, an excellent parfait and a crispy egg which needed to be runnier, but was tasty, if too salty. The odd service continued: three of the four of us had finished do the waiter cleared our plates including the one of our friend who hadn’t finished, who was left holding a cracker in her hand! The mains were again mixed and generally over salty. The ravioli were excellent; the steak good but in a sauce which was heavy handed on the seasoning, the fish pleasant, again slightly salty and verging on the overcooked. We had chocolate soufflé for pudding generally well made and tasty, but again the service was odd an ice cream was pushed into it at the table by the waiter which caused a good amount of soufflé to fall inelegantly onto the serving plate; the cheese plate was an interesting but small selection of well kept cheese. Good petit fours (though we were surprised that one containing nuts was offered to us all despite one of us not eating nuts, which we had mentioned). So probably four stars over all, but only just. It’s good to see the restaurant open again but based on this experience, while it’s fine dining, it’s got some way to go to reach the standard of cooking I’m sure they’d like to aspire to."
