"On the strength of a trip advisor Email received this morning my wife and I decided to brighten up a miserable day by taking afternoon tea.The place is very tastefully decorated and fitted out with a small retail section and a quality Deli section.Local produce featured prominently. The staff were very attentive and friendly obviously enjoying their work.Although not a restaurant as such a good range of café/tea room meals were available. The scones were the best I have had in Leicestershire !! There is a good selection of greeting cards with excellent graphics and obviously carefully scourced. The same applies to the small range of gifts which were reasonably priced.A little Gem and a valuable enterprise which is obviously doing well.Power to your Elbow !!!"

£8 for 2 very thin pieces of cheese, half a slice of ham and 4 slices of dry salami, a quarter of an apple and 5 grapes, one slice of bread, I call that overpriced.

Quaint local deli with mismatched china teacups and plates. Lovely home baking and freshly made sandwiches. Deli itself offers a great range of local produce with lovely cheeses, breads and cold meats

This is a very well stocked deli with many goods you don't find in a lot of shops. The bread is amazing and comes in daily from the bakery. There is a small cafe serving soup, snacks and lovely home made cakes. This shop is well worth a visit to the small village of Thrusington. View menu

Just love coming here for the lovely atmosphere and friendly owners and it has to be said that two of the most delicious food items I have ever eaten are on offer here: stilton chilli jam toastie, and pecan buns (which can also be bought to take away! Really easy to find and only minutes off the A46.

Super tea room in village shop selling wide range of locally produced breads, meats and cheeses as well as essentials, greetings cards and gifts.Good range of home made hot and cold snacks, cakes and specials.Very friendly service in an equally friendly community setting. Well worth the visit and nice and easy local walks nearby to burn off those calories.

Much needed village shop run by an enthusiastic young couple. They have developed a good and well used café within the shop. OK it is more expensive than a supermarket and this is expected of a small shop. The basics are stocked as well as the excellent local products such as meat from Vinnys of Ashfordby” and bread from The Hambleton Bakery and yogurt from Manor Farm in Thrussington View menu

Having visited weekly for a couple of years and having thoroughly enjoyed the coffee, sandwiches, soup and cakes etc., I spotted a regular eating a delicious looking ploughman's and decided to give it a go.Wow! Delicious locally produced pork pie, ham, Stilton and farmhouse red Leicester backed up with a selection of pickles and salad etc. from the deli/shop. It almost caused my vegie girlfriend to take up eating meat!

Travelling south from Nottingham on our way home from a business trip, I told my husband to turn left into the village of Thrussington, and oh boy were we glad we did. Lovely looking village and into the village store we went. A pot of tea for tea and a sandwich each. Bone china tea pot, cups, saucers and sandwich plates. Sandwiches had fresh and quality ingredients. Try the Thrussington special sandwich....mmmm. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Attached deli store sold wonderful and interesting items.
