Great Toby Carvery for meals and drinks and the revamp and improvements is Superb. The staff are polite and friendly and are so welcoming it is a pleasure to socialise in this family orientated public house

Unfriendly staff, women was rude when we mentioned we had discount, so asked for another receipt. Beef was nice. Lots of waiting at different points, while entering, for food. Cold yorkshires, lumpy gravy. Staff didn’t check in, even though really quiet.

Came in for lunch today with a group of friends from Headway Derby. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the three course festive menu. The lady that bought us the food out was phenomenal and worked so hard. Was very impressed by how hard the staff worked. Will definitely be returning! View menu

Awful. They were surprised they were busy on a Sunday. Waited almost half hour over our booked slot. The queue was going round 4 lines. The staff look lost. Bar staff serve regulars in front of people waiting. We left having not eaten and being told they’re very busy. Proper joke. They don’t deserve your money

Warm welcome and lovely re-decoration. Served by Carmie who was friendly and very efficient. We all had a great meal too full for dessert, but enjoyed coffee and teas. The carvery is excellent value for money and has a great atmosphere. Reece was to-days carver. As a group we always enjoy our meet up here and highly recommend as a place to visit with family or friends.

I had the worst breakfast of my life at this restaurant!! The sausages were dried out and old, the fried eggs were smashed up and inedible, and the hash browns were likely ancient. The decor was terrible, with filthy windows, old food particles all over the chairs. The only positive aspect was the parking. This place desperately needs a refurbishment or should just shut down altogether. It's a dire situation in there!!! View menu

Had Breakfast here and it was good. Buffet style and you could have as much as you wanted. It was all pretty much standard stuff for hot food and toast (no cereals or fruit juices). Bacon, Sausage, Eggs (no choice, fried only), hash browns, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms were the choices. Bacon was excellent. All food cooked well. Could probably do with a few signs to tell you what’s what, by the toaster there’s jam and what was possibly marmalade just be useful to know what it is. Same with the coffee/milk just a few labels would be helpful. Good breakfast, friendly staff, clean’ish (few crumbs here and there) but overall I’ve no complaints. I’d have no problem going back for breakfast again...

I must admit my last review of this Toby Carvery in June was far from complimentary, but others in our group wanted to visit again and we decided to give it another try . How can 2 visits be so different? This time although it seemed as busy as usual the carvery didn’t look too bad , ok there wasn’t any gammon but the turkey and pork were fresh and the beef did look appetising. The queue wasn’t long when we joined it and we were quickly served with our choice of meats , huge yorkshires and a pretty good choice of vegetables which weren’t dried up . I had a craving for a Xmas dinner and we settled on Toby, but I again left disappointed with this visit. It was eerily quiet when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon. We found a table, but there was no sign of the festive menu option. . . It was that quiet that a few members of staff were passing the time by having conversations across the pub, really not caring who knew about their weekend plans and how their shift was going. We both had a carvery, but there were no pigs in blankets or parsnips, the lamb was very chewy and it was all just ok. We didn't bother with dessert and, again, went to Scoops instead.
