"They are easily in the top dozen restaurants in Alassio and have been for may years despite their current standing in TA's polls. We love to take the 1215 mini-bus that can stop right next door to the restaurant. After a leisurely meal, the 1445 bus will take you back down to the center of Alassio. Alternatively, it is a very pleasant walk down to the shore via a marked trail. Driving up here and back is only for the foolish. The road is extremely narrow and parking spaces very scarce. Every bus trip involves some scary encounters with trucks, cars and motor bikes that may temporarily forget that the road rarely accommodates two way traffic. Backing up or down to let someone pass is best left to the professionals. There are usually four to six choices for each course: Starters, primi, main courses and desserts. As fitting for the area, plenty of fish and shellfish are show cased both in the pastas and main courses. Rabbit, pork and beef are also skillfully prepared. The wine list is not extensive, but there are fine and fairly priced selections from a number of Italian Provinces. This is an informal restaurant ably serving locals and visitors alike. It is a worthy place to appreciate and savor the real essence of exemplary Ligurian ingredients prepared with care and high craft."

I was there in January 2016 the first time and had eat excellent lunch. We went back last night with friends and it was by far the best food I had in recent years in Liguria! Friendly staff to start with, nice setting. The food is beautifully presented and it's delicious!!! Great quality price! A definite go!!!

Great location and it must be amazing in the summer with all the tables outside. Service could be friendlier but they can work on that. The food is exquisite: the tartare with artichokes and Parmesan cheese was one of the best I have ever had! The octopus salad Ligurian salad was very good too. All nicely presented and very decent portions. The rabbit was a tad too salty but very good otherwise. The fritto misto was plenty with beautiful jumbo shrimps and calamari strips. A few acciughe or other bait fish would be good too because they were missing. Yours to try :

We had a very nice little lunch here on a Sunday in January and were absolutely delighted. My husband had the best tartar of his life so he said several times while picking up the very last bits and pieces of the dish. My octopus salad and the rabbit were delicious as well. They won't win the prize for the most charming service but otherwise the place offers a fair deal in a surprisingly (for the location) nicely designed dining room with great outside area (unfortunately in January it was too cold to sit there) and great views of the Mediterranean and Alassio. Good job!

For eight or more years we have been sure to include a visit to this charming trattoria during our stays in Alassio. Moglio has a breathtaking setting along the corkscrew narrow road above the city. Life is slower up here in the hills. The level of cooking though is a cut above what you might expect in a typical rural venue. The menu may be brief, but every dish is prepared with both style and substance. A small but well chosen wine list adds to the enjoyment. The service is casual but adequate. Keep in mind that every dish is cooked as ordered. This is a restaurant/bar/cafe with a primary mission of serving its local community. But they do a fine job of welcoming the stray tourists. It take...

Thanks to the pandemic and their abbreviated schedule (no longer open for lunch), it has been over 3 years since we last enjoyed a meal at this pleasant village restaurant. I'm glad to report that the quality, simplicity and hospitality haven't wavered. On a Sunday evening, all of the patrons were foreigners. Some may own or rent places up here in this hilltop neighborhood. We do know that discerning Alassini also visit regularly. The menu offers 4 starters, 4 primis, 4 main dishes and 4 or 5 basic desserts. Driving up here and parking are real challenges. Best to take a taxi or the sporadic bus service. Yes, you can dine as well or better in town. But there is merit in making the effort to...

I have read a number of recent complaints that may be bringing their score down. They seem to be from people who are expecting a full service inner city restaurant. Let's remember where we are- a small humble trattoria in a tiny hamlet up a tortuous road. Whether you take the infrequent bus, a moderately expensive cab ride, a lengthy hike or drive up the corkscrew road and then look for the few and far between parking spaces, you are entering a rural setting It's a small place and the menu is somewhat short. But everything we have tried here over the years has been excellent, generously served, reasonably priced and capturing the spirit of Ligurian cuisine. It's a local place with a local vi...

Positive, the food was very good. before the staters everyone is given an angus tatar taster then we had 2 starters both very good a cod dish with fried veg and a shrimp dish with buratta which for me was a little strange combo but still ok. 3 primi raviolli pesto for my daughter, a very good fish raviolli and a tasty raviolli with a tuna bottarga, all good. For main 1 rabbit dish. 3 desserts meringue, peach melba and 20 minutes later my daughters chocolate souffle, 2 coffees and a bottle of vermentino. Euro 122 for 2 starters, 3 primi and 3 desserts Our only complaint is that for this price the service needs to be better. The wait for my daughters dessert was really unacceptable, asking us...
