Arrived from Lucca to Assisi, The only reason to return here is for this restaurant, fantastic food and large portions, many choices of drinks, perfect service.

The place was close to the church and to our hotel. We had the pizza and a few other dishes. It was good but not great. Reasonably priced with a nice family atmosphere.

While staying in nearby Assisi, we took a little drive to see the beautiful Basilica of Sainta Maria degli Angeli. We had dinner at the Trattoria La Rosa, located very close to the church. We started with a bottle of wine and bread, We ordered the Bruschetta Misto. The mixed bruschetta was the best I had during our month long visit to Italy. We got a plate 5 different things, tomato, olive oil, zucchini and two different olive bruchetta. We cut each in half and enjoyed every bite. We were hungry in Assisi. We were looking for a good restaurant that is not very touristy. The restaurant is located in a side street close to the church. We arrived at the parade and were greeted with a smile. We were seated and we saw local people around us. We ordered three menu . One of pizza that included margherita pizza, bruschetta and a drink. Another meaty one that included tomato pasta and meat in a mushroom sauce alongside potatoes. Ci sono andato venerdì sera con i suoceri su consiglio delle suore di casa Nazareth. Come arriviamo (21.35) ci viene detto che la cucina è chiusa. Rimasto male, cambiamo ristorante e mi preparo a lasciare una recensione negativa (appena tornato a Roma). Due giorni dopo, ci passo davanti con mia moglie e mia figlia di 8 mesi e vediamo che dentro c'è una persona a mangiare.
