"My absolute favorite dining experience in Rome, Italy. They speak Italian, the menu is in italian, and I wasn't sure what I was getting. The server directed me a bit. I was going to order just a something like Cesar salad (which I didn't really see in Italy and I don't think they had it), but I ended up with the most amazing Roman artichoke, Vignarola and the husband got Bucatini Alla Matticiana for his dish. I will come back to Rome for this experience. Valerio, I'm not sure if he'e the owner, but he feels like it. He's amazing and engaging and speaks french and italian and we were able to navigate with this. Really, you are missing out if you don't make your way 3.5 miles from the tourist area and hit this little gem."

Delicious food and nice atmosphere. Unfortunately they didn't have any beer to start with but that's the only criticism I can come up with. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Trecca is a point of reference for those looking for typical Roman cuisine, but reinterpreted in a modern key. Also worth mentioning is the friendly approach of the guys in the room and, last but not least, the possibility of parking comfortably in the area. Best meal I’ve this year! Fantastic service from Valerio and colleague, true professionals. Each dish was exceptional, incredibly simple but on point flavour wise and perfectly presented. The dining room was a perfect mix of traditional and hip. Definitely worth the trip out of the center. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We went on the recommendation of a taxi driver, who said that the restaurant is very popular among Romans, as it is very traditional cuisine, and not aimed at tourists. The food really is excellent. I ordered a L'Amatriciana and it was the best pasta I had in Rome. Very crispy and delicious bacon. Reservations are mandatory, as the restaurant is not very big and is always full. The day before we tried to go without a reservation and it wasn't possible, even though we arrived at opening time. Classic Roman restaurant serving real food that you won't find in the more touristy places. That said, my Bucatini Amatriciana was outstandingly good, and popular all over Rome. Chewy/soft with crispy guanciale perfection. Our cippolini onion starter had a crisp outside, a light creamy, cheesy sauce and was gently onion forward. Lovely. We didn't try the veal intestines (from milk fed cattle), the veal brain, or the other true Roman classics. Next time! I finished with grilled lamb crispy, gamey, and very more ish. This is a must try restaurant, remember to book to avoid disappointment Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
