"My former landlord loves visiting Deidesheim. He highly recommended Turm Stub'l to us. It is one of his favorites. So we had to try it out. He was right. So we'll pass on his great tip. But, don't tell all your friends. This will be our little secret. If it gets too popular we'll never land a table! The food part of the menu is short and they keep a shorter specials list. Even so it's hard to choose, everything sounds good or at least intriguing. They have an interesting selection of local wines. They devote a page of the menu to the story behind their homemade bratwurst. I noted that after ordering their lamb sausages. They came with some less common vegetables (kohlrabi and salsify) and a small soufflé with goat cheese. My spouse tasted it and found it to be a bit gamey. She doesn't care for strong flavors like goat cheese. I loved it. She had roasted veal, it was very much to her liking. Their wine cream soup is wonderful. Interior is cozy, service is friendly, and they offer to speak English. But they are good sports about letting us practice our German. I can hardly wait until we get back there so I can try the bratwurst!"

Has another cook for a year. That's why a small kitchen has changed. But still recommended, especially for wine drinkers and inside.

The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious and the service very nice. This is a true Pfalz experience, even if the wine list is not very comprhensive.

we were at this place with a large group of people. it is a typical palatinate restaurant, cosy and so on but not my definition of a restaurant. ok there were some nice wines on the menu but in terms of food it will soon be forgotten. good sausage yes but you find this at home too...

We used to eat here quite regularly when we lived in Germany 14 years ago and are delighted to say it is as good as ever. Great service, good selection including vegetarian options as well as local specialities. Lovely warm chocolate tart for dessert. Wonderful lunch brought back lots of good memories.

This was our first dinner in Germany, and my wife and I chose well. This place was recommended as a restaurant where locals come and have local cuisine. We made reservations since it was the weekend. I had a lamb sausage with some potatoes and something like a small fritatta along with a glass of good Riesling. My wife had a wonderful salad with warm cheese and pomegranates as well as a vegetable casserole. She loved the salad, but the casserole had some white cheese in it which made it too salty, so she was disappointed with that. My sausage was delicious. View menu

This place offers the regular local cuisine but also several nice salads and other (vegetarian) dishes, and daily specials. Always good quality! The wine list is representative of the area with several excellent choices. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and the meals arrived swiftly whenever we went there to have dinner. The prices are quite reasonable as compared to other places in Deidesheim -a touristic town, where you can also find several places that tend to overcharge a bit...The locals are naturally aware of this fact and come here rather often, hence it is better to reserve a table in advance!

We were recommended to make a booking for this place which had a great atmosphere and full of locals and travellers alike. I am glad we booked as it's only small and gets very full very quickly - even on a Sunday night! The waitress was kind enough to sit down with us and talk us through the menu as it was all in German and neither of us can read the language. We both decided on the home made pumpkin soup (up there with the best we have ever had) and then my husband had a pumpkin risotto staying with the autumn fare which was delicious. We both tried different glasses of red wine. I would definately recommend going there again. It looked like everyone was having a great time and enjoying the...
