"Went in that Victoria 2nd Jan Friday) for a meal, only a handful of people in and nobody eating , not surprising from our experience) we asked for a menu and bought a drink. When we went to the bar to order the one and only barmaid had gone for a fag . Waited until she had finished her fag and ordered our meal, she told us that there was no Lasagne/chicken/steak pie, which severely limited our choice of a not very extensive menu. Ordered gammon very small piece of gammon, but not too badly cooked) egg could have played tennis with it) peas well they were green round pellets that tasted of absolutely nothing) and a mountain of underdone frozen chips Tesco value I think). Went to order a cup of tea, guess what? No barmaid again! So we didn 't bother with that, finished our meal and went to the toilet before heading home, only 1 toilet with paper in it and no soap to wash your hands with in either the ladies or gents, and this in a place where you eat, surely this is against every hygiene regulation! Needless to say, we won 't be going back"

Great place, fab staff. I ordered a cheese and bacon burger. It was served with chips and burger sauce. Everything was really good, but there was no offer of salt and vinegar other than that highly recommended.

I used to be my local, but was not there when I moved to devon 21 years ago. At some point a renovation took place and an already excellent local hostel improved, a coworker recognized me that long. the service is as good as ever, will definitely reappear when in the opposite.

great service and good food to cheap trips! friendly coworker catherine has really taken care of us! she led us to the nearby sights after knowing that we are new in this opposite, had a chit chat with us and made sure we are comfortable! Eating is delicious, apple cake is delicious! a good place to hang out!

I visited last week for the first time as a central place to meet a friend coming up from Cheshire. We sat out in the lovely garden to start with and then went inside to eat. We were made very welcome as was my dog. The food was inexpensive reasonable pub grub, but it was the welcome and helpful young woman behind the bar who made our visit great.

we went to the victoria on Saturday evening for our Christmas meal. Unfortunately, 3 people had to cancel last minute, but manager was really nice about it and not for them. the food and service were excellent. steaks were boiled at the boil place roast and the specially made nut for our vegetarian was delicious. the drinks are reasonable and we had a great night. manager and employees are beautiful and we would book there definitiw again. many thanks to x
