"Visited the cafeteria today, I am afraid that the cafeteria appears to be going downhill fast, my wife ordered a cheese toasty to be told that there was none left, she then ordered welsh rarebit what a disappointment when it arrived the topping was supposed to be on sourdough bread but hers was on the thinist cut bread available. The spouts of the teapots were disgusting god knows when they were last cleaned. It also seems that the cafe has been taken over by people using it as an office with their laptops and papers spread all over the table all of them where there before we arrived and were still there when we left. There was also a business meeting of 5 men probably from the building site adjacent to the station with their papers all over the table, the way things are going at this branch it seems you would be better off renting out office space than providing meals. I will say that the front of house staff are excellent"

Good and surprisingly cheap food. The service is prompt and friendly and the cafe is airy, attractive and clean. An ideal place to have a spot of lunch

I used to really enjoy breakfast at Waitrose but the quality of the food has gone downhill over the years. Breakfast was cold coffee was cold and they charge 2.25 for toast daylight robbery!!!!

I use the wine bar from time to time and am never disappointed with what is served me. The food is always fresh and nicely presented. It is very clean and the staff in my experience very friendly. New menu available now and on my las visit the food was delicious.

My mother and I are locals and shop here regularly but today was my first experience of the delicious platters and attentive service in the wine bar. Julia is a real asset and made us feel very welcome. Certainly made the post lunch food shop more enjoyable! Will be back for more. Well done Waitrose!

When we are overpaying for same Tesco Food but in different package, we do expect people who are taking our money to be little bit friendly. You forgot who bring food on your table is your local customers. Show your smile. Be friendly. IF you are not happy to work there leave! There is a petro station go work there.

We stayed in Hayward Heath for our son holiday activities. We usually skip breakfast but this cafe offer a good enough set breakfast for our brunch desire. Very well made full English breakfast and good coffee. Good avocados toast and other pastry, too. Comfortable environment and never crowded. Best found around the neighborhood for a few days.

First of all, I need to say we did not eat in the cafe but in the downstairs tapas bar. We arrived yesterday en route to Sheffield Park, to go on the Flying Scotsman. We had no idea that Waitrose would have somewhere for lunch, and such a good lunch. Julia served us and she was amazing! The food and service were excellent, as well as the wine. I cannot recommend this eatery enough.

Just awful when they advertise breakfast rolls but have no rolls but have them in store. A sandwich consists of two slices of dry bread on a plate no butter, and the filling, i.e., bacon on the side in my book, a sandwich is made up. The reason for no rolls is because of additives! Perhaps the staff do not know how to make a sandwich! Not recommended very poor service for what the cost is staff can't understand why customers are taking food back!

We arrived early at Hayward’s Heath station and had to wait for a lift so we went to the wine bar inside the supermarket. What a great experience! Super friendly staff, a little bowl of crisps with your drink, and a range of wines, beers and soft drinks. It also does snack platters. I left the fam relaxing and went off to pick up some snacks from the supermarket itself, so convenient! Didn’t try the cafe itself the wine bar is at the end of the drinks aisle. We loved it!

"We go to Gravetye 3 or 4 times a year if we can and have been going for many many years over the tenures of several owners. It 's always a complete joy, and the current owner has done a fabulous job of getting the right people in, both inside and out. Tom Coward, the Head Gardener (ex. Dixter) has a vision and a long term plan that make continual visits over an extended period a joy every time we visit we are surprised by the continual changes we learn so much and the garden staff are super helpful and willing to discuss what they 're up to and why. The amazing oval massive kitchen garden that supplies the hotel is a source of wonderment and not to be missed. A visual and culinary feast. We 've never stayed there as we live reasonably close, but have eaten in both the old and new dining rooms many times. The new dining room sits harmoniously between the wings of the manor and although a very modern glass and steel construction, the inclusion of a fabulous antique (and uneven) parquet floor (ex. some french chateau) softens the feel and acoustics, making the room almost intimate. The floor to ceiling windows bring you right into the garden, even in the foulest of weather it 's a triumph of design. Then there 's the food. Apart from the presentation, which is exquisite, the flavours and textures always bring a broad grin, however grumpy I am! This is absolutely first rate British cuisine; the kitchen under Head Chef George Blogg is to be commended, as are the garden staff producing the freshest of produce. I occasionally try to photograph the plates, but invariably find I 've forgotten that rather crass move and have just launched in! Must also mention the front of house staff. Perfectly presented and mannered, they know exactly the boundary between staff and guest and make you feel completely comfortable and relaxed there is nothing stuffy or obsequious about Gravetye everything is pitched just spot on and nothing is too much trouble. We were there today for a birthday treat, but will be back again soon for a post family wedding get together. Cannot recommend too highly just an excellent few hours, whatever the weather. Walkability: Lots of paths. The lower areas are easy for those with limited mobility, however it might be tricky to get up to the kitchen garden if you 're not great on your feet. Food drinks: See my review."
