"this charming family business is over a gift shop that they may not even know that it is there! not strictly veggie, but always has a few delicious home cooked vegan options on, as well as soy milk for tees coffee etc. very friendly personal owners are always happy. they even have a special table below on the back of the gift shop for pet owners to sit with their loved ones. a busy place, they sometimes sell out of the vegan/veggy option, but they are so friendly that they in the rule make them something special. nice eating, all made on the ground. updated by the previous review on Monday, October 21, 2013 updated by the previous review on Sunday, December 21, 2014"

What a lovely place, light snacks such as sandwiches, soup etc but also quiches and daily specials. Food was delicious, staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning! View menu

I rung the number listed on tripadvisor to ask about the gluten-free cakes they have available. The person who answered the phone told me they did have gf cakes but when I asked what kinds she said “I’ve no idea as I work in the shop.” The tone was unhelpful and made me feel unwelcome.

Booked a cream tea here for last Wednesday to celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversary. It was absolutely wonderful. Very large scones with pots of cream and jam, two pots of tea and a slice of gateau each and the price was very reasonable. The staff were very helpful and the manager was brilliant. Will definitely visit again next time we are in Hastings.

Wonderful restaurant/cafe. Service is always friendly and efficient. Cakes and drinks are excellent and prices reasonable. A refreshing change to experience a relaxed non fast food ambience on the first floor. The owner often pops in and sometimes treats customers with little chocolates. It’s a hidden gem which I can wholeheartedly recommend. Don’t forget to browse the variety of interesting items in the shop on the ground floor. View menu

I went there to meet a friend for coffee, he'd been there before and recommended it. I have to say that I was immensely impressed by the staff, the quality of the food on offer, the taste of the coffee, and the herbal tea later that came in a pot. The cafe has a great, cosy atmosphere, nothing pretentious or snobby about it, just a very clean, neat, well decorated and well run venue. A superb place to meet for coffee, cakes and a chat!

this is a pleasant caffe over a gift shop, usually vegetarian with vegan options. it is a more appropriate place to go, very popular among older people. with a little more effort, a bit vegan marg in, not with butter for dishes like laek and kartoffel suppe, where it is not absolutely necessary to bake some vegan cakes as well as some folding jacket could be a really great place. the same people run the caffe over the street, but this has hardly ever vegan options from any reason!
