"This is a specialist tea sellers, with all their tea sourced from particular estates, (and correspondingly expensive) and most of it organic so high marks environmentally! The staff are very knowledgeable about it and enthusiastic and helpful; it is clearly a place where you can order an expensive tea (and maybe a cake) and while away an hour or so reading or chatting to friends (their are some very comfy armchairs, etc They do a couple of vegan cakes every day which are delicious. However, whilst there are vegan choices at lunchtime (generally soups) they also serve meat and fish, so I would only recommend it at non-mealtimes (and lunch can go on until about 3.00, I was told). Very nice otherwise, though and easy to find close to John Lewis."

I popped in when I had time between trains and had a very nice oat milk flat white (they do almond, oat, and soy milks now) and the tofu scramble all delicious and no fuss. Plus it's a gorgeous space in a convenient location with very nice staff!

had a nice brunch here. large ambiente in the arcade and friendly staff. my partner went for the miso aubergine brioche, I had the mushrooms and avo in sourdough. we both had a seasoned autumn. it is expensive, but a beautiful tasty while we were on vacation, and everything is beautifully presented. My Mum and I visited this tea shop 4 times on our 3 day visit to Cardiff due to the friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, and well labelled vegan options. The vegan cakes (we tried the lemon and lime, and the chocolate avocado) were delicious, and the tofu scramble (with roasted peppers and avocado) was great for breakfast.

We had a yummy Lime and Lemon Cake, nice summer salad and the Rye with beets and avoided instead of cauliflower as they ran out. There were 2 vegan cake options, 2 open sandwich, 2 salads, 1 soup with bread. However Soup was not available on the day. Very busy area. There was a queue at the till. We had to pay before they serve us. Cake slice was nice but too small and quite expensive £3.90. Food portions were small. Nice as a once off.

"It was the most bizarre experience dining here. First when we arrived in the restaurant, our group set up was that there was someone on each end who was sitting facing an empty chair on the other side of the table. Upon enquiry we understood it was a covid measure, however never had any other restaurants requesting such seating arrangements in the past 20 months. We ordered two split pots, a non-spicy broth for one side of the pot and a spicy broth for the other side. The staff came to confirm that we wanted spicy/non-spicy in each pot. Yes, we said. To our shock when the pots came, one pot was spicy/spicy on both side, and the other was non-spicy/non-spicy on both sides. This was after the staff had came by to confirm that we wanted a spicy/non-spicy set-up, and in the usual situation a person wanting a spicy broth would not have asked for a split pot. We raised this to the staff and were clearly unhappy about it, though did not insist on having the broths changed around. What happened next made it the most awkward and uncomfortable dining experience ever. From where we were sitting, we could hear the owner reprimanding the staff for the error, throughout our meal. We understand mistakes occur and if the owner was unhappy about the mistake and genuinely wanted to apologise, taking the initiative to change the broth to the right setup, or a complimentary drink or dish would have gone a long way. But no, he chose to reprimand the staff within our hearing for the whole dinner (which didn't help the situation one bit and made the experience worse! . We felt sorry for the staff. Even with the hospitality shortage, that was a completely wrong way to help the staff improve, nor help retain them in the long run. I don't remember anything about the food, although photos did show a good range to choose from. At the end of the meal we each received a box of hello panda, which might have helped, if not for the fact they were expired. All in all, would not recommend."
