"This hotel is a little gem!!! lovely big rooms (that are about to be renovated , a fantastic spot right in town but what absolutely makes this hotel is Barry and his staff! what a fabulous welcome as soon as we walked through the front door! A huge smile and nothing is too much trouble for them! so accommodating and just so lovely! We decided to eat there that evening too and the food was delicious! Sunday lunch. Very good value. Staff very welcoming. Food is good. Had top side of beef . Rather grisly. Could have been hotter. Nevertheless, will go back.

Best lamb chop ever! Great and fast service. I arrived at 5:00 pm and needed to be somewhere at 6:00 pm, they said no worries ; I was done with my meal with time to spare. I went back a couple of days later and had another that, just like the first one, was perfect!

Was a little hesitant to go here after reading some of the reviews, however we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were super friendly and attentive even bringing our dog over some water as soon as they noticed her. The food was great for the price a good portion and tasted good. A nice little stop off point if in Brecon.

Passing Aberhonddu and fancied a bight to eat. Ordered the chicken burger and chips, and a pint of ipa. All of which came to £21.80. Felt that was a bit expensive especially the beer at £6.30 (certainly the most expensive pint I've had in Wales). The food was so-so but not really what I would call a plate-full. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

We were sat close to a very noisy group. We asked to move to another table as we couldn't even talk to each other, the shouting from the group was so loud. The group were moved to the back of the room but were not asked to be a little quieter. Other people started to leave the bar due to the noise. We sat at our table for over 15 minutes without anyone taking our order so we decide to leave as well. View menu

there were two main things on the menu that could be made vegan: a veggie burger and a curry. the herbal curry came with rice, naanbrot, papadam and chutney. it was an average tasting meal much carbohydrates, but not much protein) but a good amount of food. the two starter options were filled garlic mushrooms and buffalo flower wings that were delicious. there were also two vegan desserts on the menu.

The staff were very friendly especially the manager who greeted us at reception. The bedroom was clean and the bed was comfortable . An adequate bathroom had piping hot water and we were warned to remember to pull the blind down as it faced the main road!! Can not comment on the cooked breakfast as the chef was ill. But the continental breakfast looked good. A reasonably priced overnight stay and I would certainly use the hotel again. We enjoyed our stay in Brecon.
