"A beautiful park very well kept clear from rubbish, plenty of bins. Very well used. Beautiful gardens with flowers and trees and plenty of seats. Bowling green with a team, football pitches and a lovely children’s area with things for disabled children. A basket ball...pitch which is well used. Fun run Saturday morning at 9 am then football matches. I walk around the edge with Charlie my dog twice takes about 50 mins, plenty of dogs for him to play with, safe to be off lead. Finish at the charity run cafe, training people back into work. A good menu, home baked cakes, ice cream..lovely coffees and tea. Open 10 till 4 every day, maybe a bit later weekends. Hoping it continues into the winter. A bit of patience needed when busy as they are learning and can be slow and forget things..we all have to learn! The shortcake cookies are to die for! Lots of lovely baking. A very well used cafe, dogs can go inside to the left near the window..plenty of seating outside. They sell plants and tomatoes from their garden centre next to the cafe a couple of days a week, again a learning kerb for people. A good free car park. We use the park at least 7 days a week. Possibly the cafe too much!!"

Had a lovely morning wandering around the carboot and then enjoyed a cup of tea outside the cafe before having a walk around the rest of the park.

Had a sausage/bacon sarnie with a latte. Very good quality food and really friendly staff. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Perfect to compliment the park.

The food is very good and really value for money, staff are very pleasant but very busy, it has a large car park so no problem for parking, easy access fro Goole.

Excellent home cooked food. The service is excellent and so is the food. My partner had an all day breakfast and I had a huge homemade burger, with bacon and cheese. It had salad and the largest onion rings, I’ve ever seen. The extra course...of real chips, was a bonus, but unnecessary, as the meal alone was large. But, they and everything else tasted divine. It was so good we went back yesterday for a traditional Sunday lunch! It was very good. We had a good thick slice of pork and beef, freshly cooked cabbage, carrots, mash potatoes. Already on the plate was a good home made yorkshire, stuffing, roast potatoes. In another dish was a lovely cauliflower cheese. Excellent meal and good value,...

"Visited today with my wife and month old daughter whilst we are on holiday in the area. We didn’t have a booking but this wasn’t a problem, the staff were friendly throughout and accommodating about lack of booking. We asked for a children’s menu...(website says they have one) but we were advised it’s was the basket meals menu which they advertise as selling to guests sat outside, they did also mention they could make a smaller portion of something from the adult menu. The basket meals menu is mainly fried food and chips, the kind you might share with friends over drinks, I wouldn’t call it a children’s menu. To me a children’s meal should at least come with some option of veg/salad/beans and ideally not be fried, plus the chips that arrived with her chicken bites were salted, not great for little ones. We didn’t make a fuss as for one meal as a treat we weren’t unduly worried but it would put me off going back with children. They also charged the full basket meal price so no reduction for children. Our meals, fried garlic mushrooms, salt and pepper chicken goujons to start then a beef burger and chicken burger as mains, arrived promptly and were generous portions. The food was fine, nothing spectacular just average pub food. The main issue on our visit and the thing that made the whole meal much more stressful and unenjoyable was the flies, we were sat in what they called the restaurant area and our whole meal start to finish was disrupted by or flies continuously buzzing round us, trying to land on our food and land on us, not fun. I accept that or flies can be around when doors or windows are open and it’s hard to stop them coming when food is around but or round us and more to be seen in the room seems too many to me, it really put us off especially when they were landing on our daughter. At the point of eating the meal we didn’t raise the issue as we couldn’t see that anything could be done about it and I’m sure the staff are not a fan of the flies either. I did raise the issue whilst paying and was told they knew about the problem and were doing their best to solve it, sadly for us it would stop me wanting to go again. All in all not a great experience and the food whilst nice enough wasn’t good enough to overcome the issue of the flies and the lack of a proper children’s menu."
